When I go see WTW and compare to other sports I feel some of our pre-match build up could be more 'cutting edge' and I wonder whether a pre-match anthem as the players come out onto the pitch would create that 'fortress' atmosphere at Belle Vue? Aswell as helping revv up the players for the ensuing 'confrontation' almost like as a boxer enters the ring? I often listen to Noel Gallagher's 'What a life' (used in the football tv ad) and think of WTW and hoping for seeing the next Wally Lewis to wear the WTW shirt. =#FF0000[uThere could be copyright issues[/u that prevent this I don't know but the lyrics I think are quite relevant for WTW (especially taking the tiger outside for a ride! Thinking of Cas!) and the crowd could join in & get the players up for the match even more.

Still think the best ever was AC/DC Thunderstruck from the Garen Casey era,still sends a shiver down the spine and puts a smile on my face,then and the end of a good game they would come over to what is now Chav corner and sing the team song ! happy days.

Fanfare for the Common Man by ELP is obviouly vintage now but still a cracking bit of music. Hull FC still play Baba O'Reilly by the Who so age of song doesn't matter. I am not a classical buff but some pieces are pretty emotive, i.e. 1812 overture (with cannons)
You need a song a wide age group can relate to. Perhaps a few could be tried to await feedback.
Definitely not Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep though.

Every post is quite right so far apart from the 'midgets pack' if you're over 6 foot and 16 stone plus then you're not a midget although its probably tongue in cheek. If we can take on the Catalan giants and beat them then its not the size thats the issue with WTW.

| Two simple verses which are easy to remember from Noel's classic, think 'I'm gonna ride that Tiger outside' is great when you think of the rivalry with Castleford!.   
If its nostalgia and going back to the golden era then what about 'Walking Back to Happiness' sung in the great film 'This Sporting Life' (1963) we've almost gone back to the same kit worn in the film 40 years ago. 
Sheffield Utd use a song United we stand' sang in their classic film linked with their club. |
