| If so good luck to him. Not played much for us but when he has done he hasn't put a foot wrong for me and has shown he can defend when he's been criticised for being weak in this area. Wish he was in our plans because I think he's got the best kicking game at the club and has got a lot of potential. Shame if true but as I've said in another thread we've got to trust the coach with his calls

| nah not from me mate i heard otherwise.....maybe my info wrong, all i heard was Agar is looking to get rid.
All i would say is what upton says, dont know who RA believes has a better kicking game at the club, and not to have him at least as a back up is a strange decision

| It would be shame not to see more of what he could do, but if he has an opportunity in Aus, who could blame him for giving it a go?
That reverse kick in Friday night's game was a peach by the way - not many could have pulled that off.

Maybe he'd like a SH who can tackle, has some pace and doesn't continually get pulled out of position. He's a good kicker, a one trick pony.
I've seen nothing to suggest he's better than Liam Kay or Wildie or John and isn't in the same class as Smith should he decide to play.
Yet another player misused by the let's create a non existent issue brigade.
Agar is Coach, he is entitled to pick who he wants end of. TBF it isn't Moore who's bleating but he has a simple option - fight for his place or move on - as we should with this increasingly dull topic.

| Shame if true, I feel he would have something to offer. Still if Agar wants him out then he may as well go elsewhere and try and prove him wrong.

I was watching a game against a half strength Sheffield side, who were you watching us play AUSTRALIA????
All things are relative. I never said he was poor or we shouldn't keep him but the FACT is he has not yet played in a big game other than a mud fest against Hudds and clearly has some flaws to his game. So I'm happy to say again what is the fuss about. He hasn't done enough for me to warrant me being bothered either way.
Finally in my opinion (just to keep you happy) the real problem here is to many posters think they know more than they do and others are all to willing to believe what they want to believe. The issue with Agar probably only exists on here or in the mind of some of Moores misguided supporters and friends. For a lad who was not exactly ripping it up in the Championship before joining us and was un ceromonialy ditched by Leeds the position he is in now seems pretty fair to me. He is in the squad and has a chance of SL which is more than most players ever get. Does anyone really believe that Coaches are so set against players that they will ignore real talent or form if they see it. Why exactly would Agar risk not playing Moore if he is such a star, he may not be Wayne Bennett but I shouldn't think he's Forrest Gump either. Lets be realistic.

| I'd like to see him stay and be given a chance to grow into the role. He is young enough, has showed signs of ability and he is English.
For me we have too many overseas players (and using loopholes to have extra overseas players does not make it OK). That is not to say I would put him in ahead of someone clearly better than him just because he is English but I think given some time and experience he could develop into a decent scrum half.
I understand why we've signed Smith but if I remember correctly that is only on a 1-year contract and we should be using that year to give Moore, Wildie and Kay some help along the way from an experienced player in that position.
I do think that Moore needs to be given that opportunity and can understand why he feels the need to move on if he feels he is not going to be given that chance.

| I would hope Agar plays the best 17 players (in relative positions) he has in each game, no matter where they are from, no matter how old they are, and no matter how much potential people think they have.
and in addition, I don't really care whether Agar was good or bad at developing youth at Hull, or winning games at Hull to be honest. This is a new start for him too. He thinks he can do a good job, so do our board. Lets see what happens. No good pre-empting doom just because someone in Hull has an axe to grind.
I like the early signs and teh way we have attempted to play against Leeds. Lets see how that develops.
I have high hopes for the season and they will remain until someone on the pitch proves otherwise

That's a candidate for post of the off-season; in my view, it could only have been improved by the inclusion of the words 'verisimilitude' or 'vexatious.'

I agree an excellent post and this is exactly the way we should be looking at things!
Back to Gareth Moore - I saw enough of him last season to believe he has potential, my personal view is that he should be retained and indeed JE has apparently stated he is part of the squad so good for that. The rest is up to him-as it is with all other members of the squad!

| In terms of Moore, one of the benefits for him is that Tim Smith lists working with and developing the kids coming through as one of his personal goals and something he enjoys doing. Moore should latch on to people like him and just learn every small detail he can get to make him a better player.
Myler at Warrington shows that just having potential is not enough.

Well I agree with that but the way some people have been talking on here suggested that Moore does not have potential - he obviously does but of course that alone is not enough it has to be worked on-as is the same for Wood, Kay and Wildie!

| After hearing JE the other night it seems the arguing was for no reason at all. He's in our plans and going nowhere. As another topic suggests we are all bored and bickering. I must admit these next three weeks are going to feel like 3 months.

I don't think we all are; most of the debate around Moore seems to stem from one poster, who regularly reports that he's being variously ignored, sidelined or treated like crap by Richard Agar.
At the Sheffield friendly, JE told a group of us that GM had missed training with the main squad due to an injury. He's since repeated that on the radio and quite frankly, I'm more inclined to believe that perfectly plausible story than the unsubstantiated tittle-tattling that sometimes appears here.
