| I suppose the chances are that you will put in a good first defensive set and force a kick when the opposition are still in their own half. If you can do that, you might be starting your own set on your own thirty metre line, as an average, and so will be in their half when you kick. If you can force a drop-out from your kick, you are into the five drives and a drop-kick territory.
What would happen if you chose to receive it and knock on early doors. Game over. The odds are with you if the other side receive, although Fax had a lot of momentum, and Fev looked a bit beaten after 80.

| I'm I right in thinking that they now can't apply for a franchise because they haven't won the league or played in the northern rail cup final

I thought an appearance in the Grand Final was enough.
As harsh as it sounds, Featherstone will never get a franchise, because their potential is limited to a small town. Halifax, on the other hand, is a different animal, and they might put in a strong application (perhaps leave the firebug behind though).

I couldn't understand this either.
Whatever the tactics were, you're still not going to win a golden point game without the ball.

| Thought it was the right decision at the time. Fev charging down Fax's 1st drop attempt after that set of six really gave Fax the game.
Having said that: If Jamie Field hadn't knocked on the 1st tackle when Fev had a full set from the half way line in the dying minutes............

| lots of ifs and buts (as always in a game), but what a cracking game.
drama, excitement, good tries, off-field drama etc etc.
i am quite certain that next saturdays GF will not be as good as this.
