| Went to Wigan yesterday and had the car broken into, personal belongings were stolen and a sat nav was taken, was all locked away, nothing was on show, nor were there any Wakey stickers on the car so think we were just the unlucky ones... Has definately put a dampner on ever going there again
Has anyone ever experienced any problems when going over there?

| Unlucky.
We parked my mates Beemer on what looked like the set of Shameless yesterday; no bother at all. Parked it at Belle Vue at the end of last season and it got keyed all the way down one wing. There's scrotes in every town I guess, with our very own Merrie City having more than its fair share.
Hope your insurance is all in order and that you're able to make a claim, especially for that Rolex watch that was in the glovebox?!

First of all apologies from us Wigan fans. I'm really sorry for what happened.
Where did you park?
I can understand your anxiety about travelling over again and in all honesty I don't blame you, I just hope your insurance pays up. Was it your car that was announced on the PA system at the ground?

For future reference park on the Aldi Car Park, about 10 minutes walk from the ground situated behind the Fire Station (opposite Asda), parked there for years and never had a spot of bother. No issue with clamping / pay & display either.

| We usually park in the big Asda car park or one of the other outlet's car parks. Never had any trouble touch wood.
Only time I've had bother with my car is the night after we sent C*s down (the first time). Woke up to find my near side rear door had been booted in. I'm pretty sure it was a C*s fan as I'd got a few Wakey stickers in the windows.

| You must have been very unlucky.
For the decade we've been at the JJB/DW, I don't know anybody who has had their car broken into and it's embarrassing that it has happened to a visiting supporter. Sorry to hear of it. There are places that are safe to park for your next visit, just come onto the Wigan board for advice.
Was it the Ford Puma that was announced over the tannoy?

| Never had any issues at Wigan, not with vandalism or idiotic fans.
Always been one of the best and safest away grounds to visit.

| I had mine done a few years ago at a Wigan game. Had my tyres slashed at a tri nations game at Huddersfield.
Scrotes everywhere unfortunately.

Car Broken into on my Drive!
FFS!
They say bad luck comes in threes, well on Thursday night I got a puncture at 2.30am in the middle of newhere, rang Green Flag who said my policy was expired by 4 days and they had not received the renewal papers so would not attend unless I paid £140.00 call out charge, told them to F off! After fixing it I found that my battery had gone flat, got ataxi to pick up a charger from home and bring it to me but that did'nt work. So took same taxi to a 24 hr supermarket and guess what, they had everything you could ever wish for,for a car, but had sold out of jump leads. Taxi back to the car then where I paid for my daughter and her mate to go home while I stayed with the car till morning and got some help from relatives to get it going.
Then comes Saturday, on way back from Sheffield on Sat night and bump engine cuts out and will not restart, rang only garage I could think of, Bridge, who charged me £130.00 to tow me home.
Now Wednesday morning and just been to my car to sort it out only to find that some scrote has broken the passenger window, ransacked the interior and stolen my sat nav.
I am now seriously considering setting the =#FF0000EDIT thing on fire!

I'v got one of them bank accounts that comes with breakdown cover and travel insurance and what not - £10 a month, my car has failed to start about 4 times since November (with the cold - its a right old banger) One phone call, 15 - 20 mins later a man arrives from bridge, fixes it and he's on his way and i'v used it 4 times now - its a proper useful account to have.
Mines at yorkshire bank, but I know they do them at lloyds and hsbc as well.

Yeah, it was our Ford Puma which was announced over the tonnoy. We parked on Stanley Street near Aldi as we asked some Wigan fans and they said it was ok to park there. Got the car sorted out and repaired but had to but a new sat nav
Hope when we go back it doesnt happen again

really glad that you can use internet forums but not renew your policies online like most people with internet access manage to do..really hope you don't bump in to me with an expired insurance policy.. 4 days is the same as 4 years and they were correct in mentioning the charges..lesson learnt imho !

Surely he is The Clan is referring to his breakdown policy, not his insurance policy.

Yeah! well thanks for the sympathy!
As Johnh said I was referring to my breakdown policy not my insurance!
You know the voluntary one that you can have withh AA, RAC, Green Flag etc.........
Here's a tip Cowt!
[size=150 =#FF0000Think before typing![/size
As my dad used to say, and I'm sure it applies to the written word too!
[size=150 =#0000FFTis better to be silent and thought a fool than to open ones mouth (or type) and remove all doubt![/size
