just like to no what people think bout rl wanting teams to have a good ground ,but after watching leeds v cas last week surely all teams should be playin on a better pitch u cant say headingley have a good pitch ,seen better pitches in thornes park.

it suffers twice the usage so is bound to suffer, the boxing day match shouldn't of gone ahead for a start it was already in poor condition then, the under pitch drainage at Wakefield is the best you could get

If there's points deducted for poor facilities, then their is an equal arguament, poor playing surface, not owning your own ground, not being able to release your fixtures on time and was it Wigan a few years ago that had to play away games at the start of the season for pitch related issues.
In my opinion all these matter just as much as facilities for supporters, and as for the rule on not having another team within a geographical area is total nonsense, unfair and would never stand up in a court of any kind.

Of course but this is rugby league run by the RFL and little thing like playing surfaces don't come into it. just as long as you have baby changing units stuff the green stuff and the quallity that goes with it.

Leeds will argue dual usage is the problem and thats fair comment but we are RL fans and we should get a decent surface to play on.

Leeds can play on a ploughed field all season for me. We saw how restricted their game was at Wrexham, in the snow, and then Cas beat them on an awful pitch. Senior said this week that he was looking forward to playing on the "fast track" at Belle Vue. My training method this week for our team would have been wheel-spinning the players' cars on the pitch every day, and maybe a couple of runs with a tractor yesterday.

I fully understand were your coming from but we don't really want to go back to "rutt rugby" do we.

If you put Steve-le-Bath on his tractor trying to chase them off it could be as entertaining as the 'Pig on a Hovercraft' though as a pre-match routine!

Remember though Al, we had Trinity, Leeds Utd Reserves and Wakefield/Emley playing on our ground for a year and it was still better than the pitch at Headingley.

More fool them for letting fat lads play all-pile-on on their pitch. Can't imagine it is a money spinner for them.

Very true and i understand they have some problems with drainage at Headingley but even so they should provide a decent playing surface under RFL guidlines.


Perhaps they still park on it or have they stopped that when the Crickets on.
