| Give me a break, I'm Welsh. You know, the only ones that don't know the rules.
My question is, can you still take a tap to yourself at the PTB if there are no markers ?

Well Taff, as I understand it - you can in theory still play the ball to yourself but you still need to play it backwards in the normal manner, but you are allowed to turn around double back on yourself and pick the back up. Think the law changed a good few years ago, don't recall every seeing anybody playing it to themself though since it did change.

Cheers for that. I watched on ESPN Classic Wales v England, 1995 WC Semi at Old Trafford. Rowland Phillips tapped clearly forward to himself, and scored from it. Commentator said, as there was no markers , it was OK.

| Yep, you can play it to yourself but you can no longer play the ball forward. You have to play it back between your legs with your foot.

Probably because the minute they turn their back the two markers will half kill them. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

| Here's one.
Friday night V Warrington.
Warrington kick off. Ball does not go 10M. Now as I understand it should be penalty to Wakefield on half way. Gleeson notices ball has not gone 10M and ventures into 10M area and eventually picks up the ball while Warrington players stand and watch as they all know it has not gone 10m. Ref blows up and gives Warrington a penalty for Gleeson off side. Was the ref being pedantic and should Gleeson had just "left it".

STUPID RULE[/u
As soon as the ball does'nt go the ten then the ref should blow for a penalty. That ball on Friday when it the ground was then going back towards Warringtons line so all of a sudden it's not going to go forward is it.
Again. This is a stupid rule

No.

Yes.
You have to wait until the ball stops moving before the team that kicked off can be penalised for it not going 10m. Whilst it is still moving it could (in theory) still make the 10m. No player can touch the ball until it has gone 10m.

Strange that they don't make players do this when there is a marker!
