Quote Kear added: "We know the type of squad we want to end up with next year. We want 20 to 22 quality, established Super League players."
The Wildcats' boss, who expects to award full-time contracts to "six or seven" of the club's outstanding under-18s players, said: "The emphasis is very much on home grown players and quality overseas players and that's what we are endeavouring to do."

So what does everybody think of this?
It has been rumoured that we'd go this way, but having been announced as such what are everyones opinions.
We have a squad of around 28 atm (iirc)
We have endured alot of injurys in past few seasons aswell as some sad departures.
So i believe we are looking at quality with a big push at a final of somesorts and sticking in 8. Just look at who we've signed, tronc, morrison, newton, millard?
So we'd be praying for few injurys and blooding say 6-8 youngsters in their absence so squad of 30 but only 22 who'd be in contention playing week in week out.
Me personally, it kind of follows the shuddersfield model. Getting a small squad of quality players and topping it up with their own youngsers, producing a mainly british squad with touches of quality from abroad. An injury crisis allows academy trained players to come through (some would argue they try harder, more eager to impress.
Until we have a new stadium which increases cash flow, then we cant realistically have a squad of 28 super league /NRL proven players.
So we'd be say losing 10 only signing 4/5 how do people feel about this?
