| I am a season ticket holder, unfortunately the other week for the Leeds game i took the wrong season ticket to the game (my nephews, in same colour sleeve) and could not gain entry. I asked the staff in the shop to check their database to verify i was a ticket holder and was told they could not do this as this information was only on the computers in the office. I had to pay full price to gain addmittance to the stadium. After several letters to the club to get my money back i have been told they will only refund 50% and that will only happen within a week of the game!
I have been watching Wakefield for Thirty years home and away, i even used to travel from my home in Surrey every week to support the Wildcats until my recent relocation back to the north. I spend hundreds in the club shop every year and have recently bought shares! None of this seemed good enough for Mr Stephenson and refused to budge on their stance.
I know £18 is not a great deal of money, but i feel cheated after i had already bought a season ticket to help the club when they needed us.
I will not buy a season ticket again, i will not spend in the shop and i will not buy anymore shares. I feel cheated by the management team of the club i love! This is a great shame as the club should be doing all they can to look after the supporters we have and generate new ones!
It looks like my money will be better spent elsewhere.

Thats a bit of a dumb post. There is a world of difference.
You can quite easily check the computers to see someone as a Season Ticket. You dont treat Season ticket holders that way.
Had he said he had lost his ticket, he would have had a £15 charge to reproduce one and he would still have got in that game as part of it.
Poor customer service.

| I was under the impression that if you turned up without your season ticket then you had to pay on the gate then bring in your season ticket at a later date and the club would refund the match day admission price. Didn’t realise there was a time limit on the process though.

| Failure on your part to follow simple steps does not mean the club are wrong if they don't correct your ineptness.
On game day, you can understand them not wanting to get someone to leave their post to go look on another computer to see if they can let you in.
and if you go back with your ticket once you have paid in, what proof is there that you paid any money at all. They don't give receipts at turnstiles. They didn't have to offer the 50% so you should have taken it.
so take the hit. The club did nothing wrong. If you really felt like they were ripping you off, you could have just gone home and got the ticket.

| I can see both sides of the story, you have not produced your season ticket to enter in which is not the clubs fault, but then why would the club be so pedantic as to upset a season ticket holder to the extent that you don't want to continue following the club so this over £9

I know the name of plenty of season ticket holders. If I follow your rule of thumb I could blag my way through the whole of next season using their names.
I can see the original posters point. It's a difficult one. Just to be pedantic next season could we have different coloured sleeves for adult and junior tickets please!

To me this bit here is the single biggest let down of the club in this matter not having the data base in the club shop where 100% of season ticket purchases happen is just plain stupid, i even metioned this to the club last year when i forgot the renewal letter for my season ticket to check the data base and got the same reply!.
We're starting to get so many things at the club right but the stuff that should be first on the list get gets ignored

| It costs money to do that. Simple.
They evidentally want to spend that money elsewhere and handle these cases manually. It can't happen that often surely?!?!?

so spending a few ££s on a memory stick is too much for the club to spend?, thats all it would cost.

| A few weeks ago we were in the club shop before a game, someone came in and told the shop he had mislaid his season ticket, what can I do.
He paid £18 for a ticket, but they told him when he eventually finds his season ticket to bring it in at his convenience and they would refund him the £18 he had just paid.........................

Surely you can have a database wherever you like, you just have to enable access to it - i.e. from a terminal in the club shop? If you're worried about confidential data being accessed by the wrong people, set up a system of authorizations. That kind of thing isn't wasting money - you can take the technology with you.

| Poor customer service no other way to desribe it.
Also very short sighted. He is a season ticket holder not a one off fan. Regular bread and butter for Trinity and now he is quite reasonably reconsidering his future spending. Who loses out there?
Also if its on the computers in the office is this beyond the realms of a telephone call? If not could the fee have been paid up front and then re-imbursed by the club after they have checked with the computer in the offices?
That said I am suprised as they have always been very accomodating to my party when we have made honest mistakes.

| Surely a password protected excel spreadsheet can be done most businesses have excel and word both can be protected by password to prevent unwanted eyes plus all they need is the ticket book number and a name and ask the ticket holder to produce photo ID simple really. And little cost.
Definately poor from the club though a valued supported let down, but I have had experience of this before but I had to take in the match ticket and they issue a refund guessing things have changed for the worse.

You're right, it does cost money, but it saves you money by improving the efficiency of your whole operation too.
Unlike other improvements to facilities, you can take it all with you when you relocate as well. As a business, you should also be able to offset a lot of your investment against tax. Then there's the customer service side of the equation to consider.
To the poster who mentioned memory sticks - God help us the day we start transferring confidential data to memory sticks to use at other computer terminals. If government officials can lose confidential data for millions of people in the UK on trains, public bogs, and elsewhere, what chance with us?
