We have a 7 day turnaround after a tough game, saints have a 6 day turnaround also after a tough game.

Saints alot of injurys in the forwards, any of st's fans reading any of your big guns coming back this week???

Where did we perform well last week, yes the forwards this is the area we have to dominate if we have any chance of winning this game. We have to also make sure we tighten up the defence in the middle as eastmond presents a similar problem to burrow/mcguire in making breaks through the middle with plently of support runners. I actually thought we contained the leeds halfs in the middle of the field, we need to do this again.

Another area we also have to dominate like leeds is the field posistion battle and kicking and broughy will have to be on top-form to keep st's down there end and make them come 90yrds to score. This requires v good discipline and little errors.

Side note, anyone notice how little attacking kicks vs shudds however pummeled leeds with them? Why we didnt do this v shudds is another matter, musnt get side tracked.

St's have class and fire power in abundance in the outside backs, and we have gleeson, grix, atkins, peto oh dear. As a whole they performed ok last week atkins back in his normal posistion is going to have another big battle with gidley a completely different player to senior and hes gonna have his work cut out.

So what we need to do IMO to win the game send a very very big pack and bench out and drive up the middle, kick for touch when we cant score from a kick as we are nervy when opp fullbacks/wingers are running to us. Alot of inside balls near to there runners for our forwards to run onto, and kick in goal for trys repeat sets. We must also have a very tight defence in the middle and try to contain their offload game as their support runners are something to behold.

If we do the above we definetly have a chance. However, im going to predict a narrow loss 32-24

Nope! Fas expected in time for the play offs, Long pretty much the same, Cunningham another couple of weeks and Cayless, well, who is Cayless?!? I don't know about Gidley. He's been missing a few weeks now so he may be due back. We don't know whether Wello will be ok as he got himself a nasty facial gash at the Wire match, Wheeler went limping off and Graham is presently playing with torn wrist ligaments plus various knocks so we don't know whether he will be up to it or not.

We're a bit light on the forwards, having to move Clough up to prop and Gilmour into the pack. I don't know who will be playing at centres if both Gidley and Wheeler are still injured. But then again, these days I never know who is playing for us from one week to the next!

Just kick us to death. That usually works.



PS: Yes, you do have a very good chance and not because we have big guns missing but because you played some beltin rugby against Leeds.

unfortunately when fancied to play well the trinity way is to be absolutely turd and get bashed! would love graham to fail a late fitness test and for eastmond to stub a toe in the dressing room on the way out

if you concentrate on the fringes you will probably cross the whitewash at will

Well a narrow loss would suggest a loss by a few points not a 24+ drubbing.

And if i did think that was the margin of defeat i'd have put 24-32 not 32-24

Well, at least you have some idea as to how your team [imight[/i react. Saints this season have been Jekyll and Hyde. Between Magic weekend and the Wire match we treated the ball like it was a wet bar of soap and most of the time haven't been able to tackle a plastic bag. Our performance just got embarrassing at Salford (not because we lost to Salford; it would have been embarrassing no matter who we were playing and regardless of whether we won or lost). So just when people were beginning to think that maybe money is better saved at present, up pops the old Saints, just in time to be back on TV, and with one or two exceptions where wet soap and plastic bags are concerned, it's as if the other Saints never existed.

So I have absolutely no idea which Saints side will turn up on Friday. We could penalise ourselves into a loss, you could trample through our defence or it could end up being a damn good match (I'm hoping for the latter!).

What I reckon though is that both Wakey and Saints will be knackered after the weekend just gone!

A game we shouldn't win, but if we are to beat Saints, this week could be the one. You would hope that the boys are smarting a bit, and Saints are depleted, so you never know.

We don't have Wheeler either, who is a demon at centre.

Cunningham and Gidley are named in the 19 but we don't know yet whether they will be playing. So you could be facing a very depleted Saints side! And in the pouring rain! Not our speciality, as everyone in the rugby league world knows.
