Real Radio's Touchline is NOT on air this Sunday (28th).

Instead a special Michael Jackson programme will be aired looking back at his life and music.

The show is back on Thursday with special guest Matt Diskin.

Thank you for posting this info - it shows where rugby league really stands in the priorities of the station. It's a case of 'do we look after our dedicated listeners with a show you can't get elsewhere ?' or 'do we cancel our unique programmes for a programme that will just go over the same old stuff and is the same type of programme that have been in most of the media over that last few days and can be found anywhere ?' .... lets think about it - oh, more advertising revenue from the bland tribute ? We'll go with that.

I feel sorry for those that put in the effort to make a programme like Touchline who then get rejected for a souless knee jerk reaction of those in charge.

thing is trinity touchline is the only specialist programme on today , they had another 23 hours to do a tribute . real radio covers Yorkshire ...... i still await the jane tomlinson hour tribute a true Yorkshire hero

I am sure you can appreciate this decision had little to do with me, Lee and Howesy.

it's a programme being put on around the whole of the GMG group - it has been put on at the end of the chart show - which unfortunatley impacts on touchline.

Obviously the perfect place for the tribute will be after the Chart Show as there won't have been a load of MJ songs played in the charts this week will there ?

understand your point - was just pointing out that whatever the rights or wrongs of it, it's not a decision taken to upset fans of the show, it's good that you are bothered, we appreciate that, the wakey fans have always been very supportive of the show.
