You'll always be able to pick one incident or another that the ref misses in a game. What I mean is, he seemed to go about his job in a fairly even-handed way, and hadn't marked the scorecard in favour of the "big team" before the game kicked off, unlike some referees you could mention.
FWIW, I thought Thaler was more help to Leeds than Smith was. If Smith refs our game against Hudds in the same manner, I don't think there can be too much cause for complaint.

Smith did well in the Cas/Leeds match.

| I don't mind which ref we get, i don't see any bias towards the 'big' clubs anymore. We will win or lose depending on how we play. If we respect the ball and pin back the opposition we stand a good chance.

he also missed a blantent knock on by cas on their own 10 meter line with about 10 mins to go.!!
as the previous poster said he had a pretty good game all things taken into account and the pen count went very much cas' way. refs are human they get stuff wrong!! they miss bits.
the players said it was hard to see a few meters in front of them!! but you want smith to see something from 20 to meters away in weather that can only be described as biblical!!
i hate fans who just see it from their point of few

thaler could also have defo given the buderus try. which would have made it 22 nill!! that was a get out of jail moment for cas.
