With our game at the KC on Friday being the third game in 8 days for both teams, would this game be an idle opportunity to unleash Frank Winterstein?

There will be some very tired bodies on Friday and big Frank could wreck some havoc, especially knowing he really has a fight to keep his place in the team.

Also this post-match comment from JK seems to indicate he may be tempted for change -
"I'm not angry, I'm frustrated. Perhaps one of our young lads made an error but you have to learn.

Throw him in the deep end friday, give someone a rest.

The lads can't keep this up every week.

Not really, Just our own fans have built him up, its not a big risk by the club, he's only contracted up until the end of the year and its up to Frank to prove his worth. I dont think Prince Buster is in a position to answer your first question, as i take it Prince Buster has only see him play for 70 min (of course I could be wrong and he could have got a bunch of DVD's on Winterstein when we signed him)

You are correct I only saw him in the reserve game. I also don't say I am a rugby expert but I have been watching the game for many years. I do think we are expecting too much from this bloke and I can't seeing him doing a better job than Snitch or Fergy in the second row in the short term.
I think he needs time to develop and slowly work his way into the team.

Frank is a punt no more - he may or may not work out. I saw him play and to be honest it was impossible to make a serious judgement other than he lacked match fitness.

If you think we are unleashing a beast in Frank you are deluded in the extreme. He has no genuine form or reputation, in Aussie terms he is Kyle Bibb no more no less. So no sane person would call playing Bibb as unleashing the beast (decent player though he is IMHO) so why expect anymore of Winterstien, at least to start with.

Clearly as an overseas player a little more is expected hence the limited contract to prove himself, but lets get this straight we have not signed Steve Menzies here.

Anyway back on topic, do you think Frank should play friday?

We never expected that we had signed a second Steve Menzies but we have signed him and we should give him chance to prove himself. It is then up to Frank to show that he is worthy of a place in the team before fans start passing judgement on him.

Im refering to the sheer size of the man nothing more i.e. the beast!. My research suggests he is a punt. As playing 4 times for canteberry suggests he obviously aint a star. But certainly the class of JK suggests he could make the lad into a good player.

l think Catic is a very good comparison.....at best!..... cant see him being any better than ned was, but could turn out to be half as good as he was!! But time will no doubt tell!

They used to call Wayne McDonald similar in poliet company bu I will give Frank a couple of games to what he's like before seeing if he plays with his heart or his head.

You have just answered your own question there if you did but know it. I know you and JK dont see eye to eye on certain team selections' but if I was a betting man I will have a shilling on JK against you. He works with the player day in and day out and I am sure that when he thinks the time is right then he will play him unless injuries play a part and he has to play him sooner than he wants to. Just a thought!
