That would be great and would be a massive boost. Would be a lot harder for him though.

| Richie Moore had a great return. Although he has been ill and lost loads of weight he still looked in pretty good shape. Was easily our best forward and was keen for work. A few more academy games and I dont think he will be a million miles away. Big Frank had a steady first half but tired big time in the second. Went off with cramp after 70 minutes A real pleasure watching Richies return back to playing. To think he only got back to light training 2 weeks ago, remarkable.

Moore looked really strong and fit
Frankie looked dangerous with his off-loads but short of match fitness. Went off near the end with cramp? in his calf but was struggling with breath most of the second half. Looked a good prospect though.
Petersen took his chances well

| I thought Richie Moore was the only positive today. Although still a little under weight he certainly looks like he will be ready very soon.
Franky is way off breaking into the first team and so is Matt Peterson.
I also expected to see a little more from Luke George today.

| moore looked good in his spells got the ball away great a couple of times and ran strongly, winterstein showed some nice touches but looked to be tiring towards the end think he may need a little more time but it could be that he will be all the better for having more experience players around him.
petersen took his tries well but was at fault for one and still looked a yard short of pace unless he is genuinely that slow but will have to wait his turn with murphy doing nothing that warrants him being dislodged from the team

| quality news. Moore is a top man to recover so fast, what a attitude that lad must have to beat a serious illness like that.

TBF we were so woefully short of a playmaker that George and Peterson never really got any wortwhile ball. In an ideal world we would have Southernwood and say Rooney doing that. We were also short of players who would add a bit more experience and backbone ie Bibb, Pitts, Murphy and of course sadly Leon Walker but they are due to injuries permanent first teamers.
Basically there wasn't one Academy player who looked anywhere near good enough for first team at the moment - our Academy looks weak especially in the forwards.
Of the first teamers...
Moore so long as he has no adverse reaction to todays game looks ready to return right now, which is quite miraculous.
Peterson and George never really had a chance.
So to Frank - 50/50 on this one. Obviously he is ring rusty and new to the team and probably home sick so we can't judge him too harshly. He showed some nice toches, very good hands but he was certainly blowing and did nothing that was WOW standard. I'd say a steady start but I agree there is no one I would drop for him just yet.
One thing that did worry me was the inclusion of the ginger tank. I know he trys hard and is quite effective in a fashion and fans love him. But I have to ask what is the point in playing him, he is plain fat and not an athlete and unless he radically alters he will never make it. I know it sounds harsh but we are not talking chunky or puppy fat here, he is at a modest estimate 3 stone overweight! Can we not find a more realistic project than this in an area that boast dozens of junior clubs?

Yep, thats how i saw todays game, still the young players put their hands up on what must have been a tough day for them.

| I think Davey looks a good prospect for the future, had a good year last and hopefuly will continue to improve this season. He certianly did not look out of place at KR even if it was for a short time but he is one to keep an eye on IMO

Please can we not forget that this is the first game back after what I cannot even start to imagine they all went through in the last few weeks, I think like we said about last weeks match we cannot go on what happened today, I was not at the match as I had to work but I know how a few of the players were feeling prior to today

Yes I think we can. It was a general comment that was pretty much known prior to Leons death which we should not linger on IMO. It was nothing to do with Leons death it was a simple case of not having the size and skill to compete with Bradford. I'm a realist I know that at Wakey we have a limited budget and it goes in cycles. In a years time some of thse players may well be able to compete but not this year I feel. In Leon Walker you were probably looking at one of those who could which makes it more difficult for the rest.
Let's not confuse sadness for the events that have just taken place for an honest assesment of our Academy.

| The only player currently in our academy who has a chance of making it is Chris Annakin (And yes, I am aware he didnt play yesterday!) and perhaps James Davey. Sadly I do not think any one else has the quality.
