that Tony Martin is good aint he, one week he's a centre next he's a scrum half the next he's at stand off and now he's touch judging

good luck with Mr James childs he has ruined a few northern rail cup games this year already dont epect any flowing rugby and lots and lots of penalties

Got to start somewhere though. Young refs always seem to give away loads of pens, i think it's a way of trying to stamp their authority with the bigger boys.

Might be a bit too soon for him to ref a SL match though, but then again theres not enough refs to go around. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a couple of Aussie refs come over in the future.

It's the players not the ref that give the penalties away, but I agree that they've got to start somewhere, just that the somewhere is not SL, they should have shown a fair degree of competence in lower divisions before being let loose on the top league, apparently he hasn't.

From what I`ve seen over the last couple of season both Jamie Leahy & Gareth Hewer are better (and more experienced) than master Childs.At least we shouldn`t get him for 8p.m. k.o.s as it will be past his bedtime
