| After watching the guys play and having a few beers with the boys the same topic always arises with numerous different preferences. So what i'd like to know is, imagine that that we are injury free, everyone is fully fit and ready to play and Dave Halley is still here, who is your prefereed 1 - 5 and why?
Then, again assuming everyone is injury free, who would be your 1 - 5 for the first game next season?

| My current 1 - 5 would be;
1. Blaymire
2. Blanch
3. Martin
4. Atkins
5. Halley
I think Peterson will probably prove to be a superb signing although i just haven't seen enough of him yet. Halley and Blanch both score tries for fun and i think Martin defensively has it over Gleeson at the minute.
For 2010 i'd like to see,
1. Blaymire
2. Peterson
3. Gleeson
4. Atkins
5. Halley

No issue with Peterson but surely you would prefer it to be George?

I would, but i think 2010 will be the season whereby he covers for injuries, then in 2011 he'd be in over Peterson. I think George has a very bright future but i'm just not so sure whether 2010 is too quick for him to be first choice

So you would prefer to lose two prospective top young Brits in favour of two foreigners
That IMO is what is wrong with our game, too many people yearn for antipodeans rather than see our own blossom, and too many clubs bow to the pressure of the fans wanting foreign signings.

yes i would i dont care if they come from mars so long as they play well for wtrlfc
in my opinion whats wrong with the international game is not going to be resolved by issues at belle vue in next 3 to 5 years. answer me one then who would you have matt gidley or ryan atkins?

Ryan Atkins, Gidley is the better player but then he would be he is about 500 years old. Ryan if coached well and motivated could possibly become that good. I'd rather watch him develop than catch the tail end of an admitadly great players career. You could say the same about Drew, but we don't currently have a player who directly challenges him, where as Atkins is at least closing the gap.

TBH I don't give a toss about the international game, if England never win another game it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, if there were no Wakefield trinity wildcats I wouldn't be a RL fan so what we do for the international game is irrelevent as far as I'm concerned. as for your question, Ryan Atkins every time old lad, he's a localish lad, he came to us at a young age and I have had the chance to see him grow and improve at our club, give me that every time over bringing in an antipodean with whom I have no affiliation whatsoever.

I'm not so sure now! We are a very competitive team and i'd suggest we could spend pretty near to the full cap as we were tailing Bird.
Under Kear our philosphy looks to have changed. We have alot of young British lads who whether they came through the academy or were bought in are playing well. When that happens players tend to stick together as a unit because they enjoy their rugby and they have been through the same experiences.
Leeds are a prime example

There is also a possible knock on effect from that as well in that other young British players may look at what's happening at Wakefield, see that players like them are given a real chance to prove themselves and may well decide come to us in favour of other clubs. Dave Halley could well be a prime example of that.

6 Martin from what I have seen this season Martin looks a far better player at SO
I expect George and Murphy to develop and push for a start this season and next
As for Peterson I have seen nothing yet to convince me he is any better than the wingers we have dose not look that quick dose not look safe under the high ball we will see what he can do when he is fit
