TBF he is a terrible ref on the whole. I doubt there will be any bias because when we've had him before, he seems to give more penalties to the other side.

This match is doomed...

Last season I thought he was the worst ref in SL - even worse than Klein.

That is what I was alluding to, that being on telly he might lean towards us too much in order to show no bias, although based on previous performances in reffing us it would be bloody incredible!

He is from Leigh. He just did his training in Warrington.

Bentham's my least favourite referee by a mile. Klown may have had his moments but on the whole I didn't think he was a BAD referee... debacles such as Wigan away '06 and Leeds at home the following year aside...

Benthams problem is he always seems to fall out with one of the teams and then canes them throughout the game. His recent TV game, where he hammered Leeds but let KR get away with murder was typical. Lets just hope he favours us?


At least with the TV cameras and video ref in use both sides have got a bit of insurance.

He has certainly taken over from Klein as the worst ref in the comp.

Agreed. He seems to get obsessed with punishing only one team for a particular offence, whilst seemingly ignoring the other sides transgressions of the same offence. This lack of consistency in applying the rules equally to both sides is very frustrating to players and fans alike.

Last Friday he pedantically kept penalising Leeds for being off-side (which was no worse than all sides do) whilst misssing KR doing the same. I've also seen him become obsessive about hands-in at the play-the-ball and also not standing square. Wakey have certainly been the recipient of these clean-up crusades at times.

He hails from Leigh and is a Leigh fan.

he made the hull kr and leeds game a farce the other week. I think he is the worsed ref we have in SL and I particullarley dont like the bloke either!

Every time I've seen him ref he comes across as an arrogant attention seeker, I can't stand the bloke. Memories of 2 seasons ago and our make-or-break match to get the playoffs are more bitter than the Klein Leeds incident for me. He'll favour someone heavily in the match, and I seriously doubt it will be us.

well sumed up there mate I am the same I really dislike the man. I know former touch judges that have worked with him they say hes a arrogant big head.

He'll be crap as normal but it won't affect the result. Wakey by 16....... (and i'm a Warrington fan !!!!!)
