I didn’t come to Belle view today as I went to Doncaster game, I did watch the game on our league on my phone whilst sat in a freezing Keepmoat, it looked to me like our first choice half backs and full back managed the game perfectly and passing was crisper and quicker, the result was we created space abs opportunities to score. A good win over one of the teams we need to be picking up wins from.

I think most people agree he’s a better second rower than he is prop, even Chester has said he’d rather play him there. The problem is, in my opinion, is that he’s also the best prop at the club as well. To accommodate him in the second row you’d have to drop Pitts and Ashurst, both of whom were excellent today. I actually thought he went well this afternoon and would leave him there again next week.

Much, much better today, we actually looked threatening with the ball, and like others have said Ashurst and Tupou were looking like their old selves. Miller made a big difference, both wingers were very good, and missing 2 hookers it shows we do have some depth and there is enough talent in this squad to win our fair share of games. Hopefully now we will keep the majority fit, get TJ & Wood back and who knows? It could still be a decent season, but a sterner test awaits next week.......but well done boys, and i'm pleased for CC.

We require at least two FB’s. There is no obvious FB in the youth team. Hampshire is a player who can play FB but is primarily cover for numerous roles.

That leaves Walker who did not start as first choice FB and still isn’t.

Unless Max has stated he won’t stay for less than x and the club don’t think he’s worth x then he would not be the obvious candidate for me.

However that was not the point. The point was why chuck that one in with the flimsiest of evidence. How does it help? It’s more like attention seeking in my book.

If it must be discussed then wait till later in the season. For now just celebrate a win for chuffs sake and stop looking for problems. It’s like a disease at Wakefield at times.

No supporter would want to see us lose just to see the end of the coach. I am extremely relieved we won not for Chester but for us, the players and the most important thing our SL survival. I still believe that Chester has taken the team as far as he can.
The win allows Vastman to return to the forum of the losing team to give his views and post here on a Sunday rather than midweek when we lose. The fact that Fifita obviously played despite carrying a painful injury may allow Vastman to now cut him some slack.
I hope the confidence the win should produce continues into the next game and beyond because our SL existence is the number one matter ahead of all others.

Other than he deserves a new contract. He has been patient, been dropped, been pushed into the halves, played on the wing, got stick for his one on one d and is now becoming the player he looked like been capable of when he was 17/18.

Can’t fault the effort and commitment in any game this season it’s our attack that’s been so blunt which as resulted in us not scoring and putting any kind of pressure on the opposition. Yesterday the shackles seemed to be removed with a more play what you see attitude which resulted in our main strike player getting some quick quality ball and he did some damage. We went away from the predictable round the back left or right which seems so slow to giving it some air. That left side looked much better in defence yesterday with players numbering off and holding their shape, completely different to the Catalan game. The sending off was probably fare although jowitt looked to be falling if he’d of connected he’d of took his head off

One thing that bothered me yesterday more than on TV is the ball steal. First time I've seen it live and it brings nothing to them game. HkR number 11 was at it at every single tackle, thankfully we were ready for it so hold on tight.

It's yet another garbage idea that is so open to abuse, yet we never learn.

This just brings another poxy rule, which is massively open to the interpretation of the ref.
Everything else has been brought in to speed the game up and this rule just allows the wrestle to go on for longer.

What on earth was wrong with the rule prior to the change

What infuriated me was that there were a number of attempted strips but when the ref says release they take an extra few seconds to allow their defence to reset continuing to grapple for the ball. There should have been multiple six agains due to this. But the nuggets who came up with this strip rule have allowed the game to get so messy around the tackle and it actually slows the game down.

Needs binning off ASAP.

Looks an impossible rule to ref and open to all sorts of abuse , the sooner it’s gone the better for me . On the same note I haven’t missed the scrums one bit as when they took away the chance to strike for the ball it ended up a farce and laughing stock of the game ,personally hope it doesn’t come back .

Agreed, it is a really bad rule change that is unfathomable and id go further than say it brings nothing, it actively spoils the game. Bonkers
