TJ has always been left winger at 2. Tupou at 3 etc. unless it’s just Trinity who do it the other way round.

I’ve always understood 2,3 left and 4,5 right as far back as I can recall.

In actual fact the numbers mean nothing now. But we have always played 2 as the left and 5 as the right.
Neil Fox had the 3 shirt and was left centre.
Andy Fletcher had 2 and was left.

However, Offiah was 5 for GB when he was on the left so who knows.

In the 1968 watersplash final Neil Fox wore no.4 and was Left centre, Ian Brooke was no.3 and right centre.
If my memory serves me right, before this 1968 final as far back as 1960, Neil was always no.4 and played Left centre

Avenger’s right, traditionally 2 and 3 are right sided, 4 and 5 on the left. When Johnstone broke though he played on the right and kept the squad number when he moved on to the left. Same with Reece Lyne, although he’s played all over the three quarters, he was mainly playing left centre when he got the 4 shirt.

Yes The big fella was left centre and allways number 4 ! But he did'nt play in the water splash final if he had Don would not have been a poor lad.

Neil Fox didn't play in the watersplash final - I believe Gert Coetzer played left centre (No 4!) that day.

Neil was down to play Left centre no.4 with Ian Brooke no.3 at Right centre.

Got it. Apparently Neil was dropped because he wouldn't play in the match before the final.

Pity the weather forecast is dire for Sunday ,will keep some of the casuals away for sure ,the battle hardened amongst us who have put up with it for so long it’s not a problem ,but will certainly make a difference when we get a quality stand fit for purpose .

Gert was moved from wing to centre for Neil and Ken Hirst came in at wing.

Wrong the club committee made him play in the game before the final when neil asked to be left out! Making his injury worse

Just watched the 79 semi final closing minutes (again even though I was there) and Flekker scores the winning try on the right wing and his try in the final was on the right ... although I do remember his debut season he was on the left wing ...

Ps just have a feeling (nothing more) that the halfbacks on Sunday will be Miller and Gaskell
