As I posted on the other thread, I'm looking to introduce 'bye' rounds where, if you forget to post your predictions because you've actually got a life then you'll be awarded half marks for that week.

If you forget to post just one week it makes it very difficult to be in with a chance of winning and I think that's a little harsh.

This would be limited to a maximum of 3 times over the full 27 rounds (can't be used in the cup or play-offs). The first 3 times you fail to post predictions I can give you 8 points, equivalent to predicting 4/7 correct and equal to half the maximum score of 16.

Does anyone have any objections to this? (post here or pm me).

This raises the question of retrospective byes (if you've done particularly badly one week). Again, I have no problem with this, within the limits of counting as one of your 3 lives and being nominated by yourself as playing a joker for the previous round when you post the next week's predictions. Thoughts?

Once you've used your 3 lives, that's it.

Anyway, we're still looking for more competitors. There are 6 notable absentees from last year who scored over 250 last year.

Oh yeah, one more thing.

If you correctly predict a draw then you can have 5 points and a beer from me next time I'm at a match (*T&C's apply).

So to recap:
correctly predicting a win = 2 points
incorrect predictions = 0 points
correctly predicting a draw = 5 points (and a beer*)
correctly predicting all results for that round = 2 bonus points
using a bye = total of 8 points for that round (to be used a maximum of 3 times a season)

I think the 'bye' for forgetting to submit your team selection is a good idea (although I wouldn't be as kind as giving half marks) but I don't like the sound of the retrospective one, If someone does rubbish one week then tough, that's the whole point of the competition isn't it?
