| We are still only part way on a journey, for a decent NRL coach/assistant, it may be too much of an ask to bring someone in and sort recruitment out what with uk boarder agency etc.
The club we are now may need some stability as we are still in our infancy, the club we may become WHEN Newmarket is passed could be a totally different thing.
On that thought I have to concede Noble could well be the man on a fixed term contract, giving him time to prove he isn't just Brian Smiths lackey or us time to scour the NRL.
That's if you look long term and have the belief.

I agree with you in rugby terms, but as a name to get people in to the ground its probably the biggest available, back him with a young hungry aussie assistant??
Weirdly we have lost, in kear the clubs biggest name to the armchair punters, which sort of say it al about the players we ended up with.

Might agree with you for once on this. I think it would be like for like, swapping one coach for another coach that probably also thinks he achieved enough in the game.
We need someone younger and hungrier, someone who has been around success and strife with still a lot to achieve in a coaching role, these are Poching's comments after today's Wire masterclass.
Quote "We were very good today right from the start and the response we got from the boys after last week was fantastic.
"It wasn't about getting back to winning ways today, but about performing the way we want to, the way we know how and the boys did that plus a bit extra.
"The boys were disappointed after last week and they hurt a lot, the whole group hurt, and when you lose a game like that it's always hard.
"But we did some soul searching and a lot of work and it was a productive week which we saw thefruits of today."'"
Notice he calls the players 'the boys,' 'we' and 'Whole group.' JK refers to 'players' and 'team.' For me heartless labels. Poching (and of course Smith) wasn't bothered about the result, unlike Kear, he wanted the side playing the 'way they want to.'

| Think Noble would be a good choice, what about promoting from within for the assistants job. Rich Slater would fit the bill nicley

I have the utmost respect for Will and people like JD but i do not want them back at this club under the guise of First team coach and quite frankly anyone who thinks they could do a good job is misguided.
We don't get the new coach right and we'll not push on IMO.

| Don't know the current NRL coaching situation so from my limited knowledge I'd go with Noble. He actually achieved something with Crusaders in the time he was there in a very unpromising situation. He may not produce the most exciting teams but they always seem to do something - like getting the basics right and having some creative ideas. If we we are to build then we need to set out a solid foundation next season and he might just be able to provide it. He also seems to be able to recruit decent players to play for him.
So although I know it might not set the world alight I'd go for Noble - at least the ship won't sink!

| We need to stay well away from Nobby, Harrison, Powell and most of all Agar; these men offer nothing to us that we haven't had throughout the Kear era and would represent, at best, inertia.
I'm worried that these has-been vultures are circling since we got our SL reprieve - none of them are what we need.

At a push at least Powell might have something to prove at SL level and is still youngish. Agar would be the biggest disaster out of that lot for me he's done knack all at Hull with some big money players

Thought he bailed out of the club during his playing days. Didn't he end up "Fev through and through"?

| I'm in the Georgallis type camp rather than Noble/Harrison/Agar route. They would do an OK job and be fairly low risk, but now is the time to move away from accepting mediocrity and rising to the challenge.
This is assuming that the dream team of NGB4C and Lupset Airport are out of our price range.

I agree. If we want a new broom, we need a new broom, not just a repaint of another old one.
If I had to go with one of those suggested it would be Noble. He would at least be a draw for potential signings. He would need a good number 2.
