As much as possible I would guess - weekends in particular over the summer are, I gather, filling up fast.
He'd probaby be well up for it - plays rugby himself, albeit slowly and for the wrong code.

| At work I have received an email sent to all unison members for upcoming Sheffield vs Leigh match and £5 entry for services/ members. Never seen one from wakey.
We are missing a trick I feel.
I work in Dewsbury and for me we should roll out a similar offer bs hoods or cats. In surrounding towns and Wakefield.
Hope the club try something similar.

I suggested something similar several weeks ago and repeated it on page 3 of this thread. The clock is ticking on two games that could really drag down our average attendances for the season - hopefully, Mr Glover has his team assembled right now, thrashing out a mid-season marketing strategy that prevents that from happening.

| Great attendence figures, your about 4k on the Quinns! How you can be considered for the drop to the championship is a bit of a joke really.
If you avoided the administration you would be in 10th place. At least you can come and play us at the LSV.

Exactly.
One good thing for me is going to the LSV.

| Is anyone a little suprised the numbers are not higher, i'm pleased and the clubs worked hard to make match day better, can't help but feel a little let down by the increase.
Seem to remember reading that we've got loads of stay aways and lots of excuses for not supporting the club, so were the hell are they now, anyone?

| Match on match there's more than last year, so thats not a bad start, and from the point of view, that to those who haven't yet seen a game we haven't got half as good a squad as last year, that could also be a reason.
But TBH i agree a little, i wont be happy until BV is packed week in week out.

I'm not. They are not stay away supporters, they are never been supporters. My father in law used to tell me his opinions regarding Trinity every sunday evening until his death. He never went whilst I knew him but I assumed he'd been a big supporter once. Turned out he'd seen them once at Wembley in 1960 on a works trip! Yet this never stopped him moaning and bleating about the club and how crap it was and that's why he didn't bother ANYMORE, even though I'm fairly sure there were some good moments after 1960.
It's not just the Wakey way but we seem to have more than most - so a word of advise don't expect any help from the Wakefield public as they are far to busy supporting Leeds United!
Mind you it doesn't help that many Trinity regulars talk the players, team and club down at almost every opportunity - you know, I've paid my money and I'll say what I like.

Yes , I'd like to see more people come and watch, but like you say, with the squad we have, with no draw names and with all the negative press, for next season, it's going to take some effort to get more in.
I also agree with Vasty to some degree, there are plenty around Wakey that give their opinions and talk the club down, but most have either, never been, or haven't been in years ad are no more than arm chair supporters. They key is, to get some of those kinds of people to the games. To get numbers up to 10k, would need a new stadium and a winning culture and tbh if the stadium and a SL franchise, were to some how happen, I think the club can do it.

That's not really a vaild arguement, is it? Take the Hull KR game as an example. Over 1000 fans more this season than the same fixture last year. I'm sure the people of Wakefield haven't changed that much since then, and the ground hasn't suddenly become more attractive either. The only thing that has changed is the ownership. The only possible reason for the increase in attendances is the regime change. The club is now managed much more effectively, and actively trying to bring in more fans, something Ted & Co didn't/couldn't do. I know you'd rather blame other fans for the low crowds (since when has someone stopped going because someone talked one of the players down????), but the reality is the club was poorly managed. You can make up an opinion, but you can't make up a fact! ![BEAT icon_beat.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_beat.gif)

Strangey enough I haven't, I work in Dewsbury but still surprised not to have seen any. Certainly no emails or broadcasted emails to do specifically with Wakefield.
I may email unison tomorrow if I get chance.

Odd how the club gained it's highest average attendance since the 1960's under Ted & Co, though there may have been an upwards blip in the early 90' not sure.
Under the old regime (2008 - 6,962 average) is the highest we have managed in SL.
In 2000 we started at 4,621 - 2001 then 3,669 and 2002 - 3,889 so by 2008 a roughly 70% increase in crowds.
So clearly your obsession with regime change is a touch flawed. Suggest it's more to do with performances.
Finally I didn't blame the fans, I blamed those who claim to be fans - subtle but there is a difference.

This is the problem with somebody of his vast knowledge, he feels the need to answer every post on every thread, and inevitably you get the odd few hundred give or take what disagree with him and let him know so, thats when the problem starts when someone has the audacity to disagree with his thoughts and he reverts to type by insulting them, good luck btw trying to stop him hijacking other peoples opinions ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif)
