| And the "next big thing" Ryan Brierly has already got people in his ear telling him he's solid gold.
IMO if you want to look for a young gun who will be out to rip up some tree's this year look no further than Chris Annekin.

I fear we could be in for quite a few star wars puns with regards to Annakin in the years to come.

| I can understand how this has made its way on here, To show that Cas have "Financial Problems".
Every club has Cashflow problems, Do we have a spare £100'000 cash in the bank to put Full Planning Permission in, Maybe not? Do you ? No. And neither would most clubs.
Joe Westerman had already told everyone, Including the club he would reject any deal on the table next year, Despite the club been prepared to make him the highest paid player, And that he wanted to move on.
Last year we rejected a 6 figure sum for Shenton, He had a mediocre season and left on a free. One big balls up.
This time round we were smarter, We have secured £175k and, His wage was nearing 100k too.
We can use 100k towards the PP, And still have plenty of cash besides, And 100k is a big budget to get a Loose Forward.
Smart business by us, Regardless of how good Joe becomes, This could still be a very smart move by Hull and Joe too, But time will tell
Dont any of you say, That if a big club came in with a 6 figure sum for Dale Ferguson, You would say no, As you wouldnt.
Hopefully, We can push our stadium through, And you can push yours through and we can give the RFL a real headache.

Thank you. A reasoned answer at last from your side of the common!
That is all the majority of WT fans were saying; yet the media make us out to be penniless and some of your fans see this as the green light to show us the SL door.
In fact I think SL will look on repeated crowd trouble a lot worse than a brush with HMRC (as most will have theirs now!).
IMO this mess was another excuse for CT fans to project their own insecurities out on what they see are easy targets. Also IMO they are very wrong!

I'm of the opinion that Westerman is vastly over-rated, and that's why Cas took the money. Regardless of stadium/finances of the club, £175,000 is a lot of money for any player these days, especially an ordinary one. If a club came in with a six figure sum for any of our players i'd snap their hands off. I'd even throw in Blaymire as a goodwill gesture

| Its alot of money for a player who is not performing to his full potential. Im not 100% convinced that hull are in a position to make him do that, but if you have the cash to spend then why not i guess. Could go either way. Could be the best signing they ever made... yet again it may be the worst. Good look to him and hull anyway. When u pay that much u can only wish them luck.

| Westerman is NOT an ordinary player, FFS, Matterson changed his role at Cas, and has almost ruined him IMHO. Westerman is the best young loose in British rugby league. I am not saying he is going to be the next Paul Sculthorpe, but he is a huge talent, and I hope he shows how good he could be at Hull.
I know one thing, if he was signing for us, most of you lot would be bigging him up to some tune.

| I'm sure Westerman and Shenton will regain their form in better teams and make us wish they were still at Cas but on last season's performances losing them is nothing like the massive blow Wakey fans are claiming/hoping it will be. In fact one of our selling points is a decent financial track record and if the Westerman fee ensures we enter the franchise race with that intact there's at least one area where we'll be ahead of 2-3 competitors.

If Wakey paid as much as Hull have reportedly paid, I wouldn't be bigging him up at all and would consider it a huge risk to take, on a player that may or may not improve.

its a fine balance of selling a player and then replacing him for less

You can't seriously tell me that you believe that youv'e sold him to pay for Full planning permission can you? Dickie Wright claim's to have funding in place (at least £13 Million) but he can't raise 100K for full planning permission! We are talking less than one percent of the total cost of the stadium here. Considering the importance of moving the project along I would find it hard to believe that you would ring fence your Ground money and then leave yourself short of money to put FPP in. Good old Dickie certainly has you on his string!
The reality it that you are no longer a top SL club, your no different to us, your a selling club. You need to sell to pay for the day to day running of your business. You simply don't have the income stream to hold onto your top players. Sherwin, Shenton and Westerman have all gone and not replaced with similar high earners. Sell or die that's a fact of been a SL struggler and without a sugar daddy that's the way it will always be...FACT! Please don't try and make out your something your not!
