What is the problem?

Dose our marketing dept need a good kick up the backside?

Is it the Wakefield public who don’t care if professional sport continues in the City?

A sign of the times folk in fear of losing their job or already lost it?

The entry price £18 getting near on Championship football price not cheap?

Our average gate is well down this season we need to address it but how

Credit crunch taking effect?

Oh come on you don't actually think that was the crowd - Wakefield admin people have made the club look rediculous today and I don't see the point - I'm actually quite annoyed it's real shoot yourself in the foot PR and back to the bad old days.

8 thou for me today. cant understand the announcement at all, but as for all this taxman nonsense they wouldn't need to massage the figures in that way; there is not an exact correlation between the attendance and receipts due to differing levels of concessions/full price/season tickets/freebies etc which make up the final figure

Where were the extra 5000 supposed to go if it had been full to capacity? Were we supposed to have people sat on our shoulders and the roof of the main stand?!

Definatiely looked more than 6k there today.

It was the most packed it has been for todays game 6 thousand was definetly wrong. Few off for the taxman probably

In no way was the attendence 6, 500 today. It was at least 8, 000 or 7, 250 at the very minimum.

Due to family circumstances I had to wait 'til today before deciding I could get to the match. I started ringing for tickets fro the East Stand at 9:30am - the recorded message tells me that tickets are available [unow[/u, press 1. No answer. Decide it might be a bit early so tried again at 10:00am - same result. Eventually somebody picks up and tells me that ticket office doesn't open 'til 12:00. Start ringing again at 12:00 - no answer. Get through to a woman who says she'll put me through to the ticket office - no answer. At about 1:45pm I get a bloke who tells me that the ticket office opened at 1:30 and they are currently dealing with a big queue so can't deal with phone calls (what happened to opening at 12:00 and why did I get put through to the ticket office just after 12 if they didn't open 'til 1:30?) Keep ringing all the way to the ground (I've driven from Birmingham by this time!) - still no answer. Finally go in to the shop at about 2:50 and ask for tickets to be greeted with, "What, you want tickets for today's game now?" (Shock horror - fan actually wants to watch Wakey!!).
The whole operation came across as very unprofessional and if I had been a casual who just fancied going to the game I'd have given up by 12:00.

there was never a 2 thousand difference to when we played Bradford last year. Strange either someone cannot count or the taxman has not been told

Glad it wasn't just me. Or maybe it is because we have stopped inflating the attendance for franchise purposes by having 2,000 kids on the pitch before kick-off doing some dance marathon, or whatever they were doing last year.

It was pretty full on the West stand, and there looked to be a decent Bulls showing behind the sticks. It didn't seem much less full than Wheldon Road on Friday, and there was over 10,000 in there.

Don't worry. The crowds will go up in franchise year and we'll just take the hit from the taxman.

The club have obviously started saving up for it already! With the way things are going I presume we'll be announcing crowds of over 10,000 for all our matches in the 2011 season.

Tis for me, I used to follow home and away, then just home games, now I have to pick and choose, £18 is a right joke as well, I don't mind payin about £20 for a match and a beer - but any more is takin liberties when you consider the facilities you get for it.

Would it not look better to be getting consistent high crowds? Instead of just shooting up when the franchise comes around again.

I think I have being going to Belle Vue for enough years now to guess the attendance within 500-800. I did say 6500 before it was announced there was a lot of space on the North terrace
If we had 8000 in that ground I will show my ar@e on the town hall steps old lad

There were more than 6,500 there, I've been going to BV a long time also and I pride myself on being right on these forums far more often than you

Is 6,500 as high as Wakey are prepared to declare, because the Salford game was 6,500 as well - with only 62 fans of a difference

Im not going to play the 'ive been going longer than you game' but I thought the croud announcement was about right. Lots of space in the seating area and on the terrace area behind the posts. Me and my family had loads of room behind the sticks for our tiny ones to roam around.

read the paper it says 6500 the club gave out 6500 that will do for me
