It's not as many games as he has deserved to play - and to be honest the suggestion that he didn't improve at fullback is laughable anyway. He is the best of the bunch we have that can play there and is proving himself to be a decent option at half back IMO with very little game time in that position.

I don't disagree with you. He has improved. I just don't agree that he should have been guaranteed game time in the past.

Unfortunately this is simply delusional, in the 60 games Max has played for us he’s had a handful of games where he’s impressed with individual plays (not even the full 80), the rest have been pretty bog standard.

Rocky is better at FB and HB than Max, Walker is also a better fullback.

Poppy is right, Miller needs a partner. Someone to lead the pack round the park, leaving him and Rocky to play their off the cuff rugby.

I have yet to see evidence of this. Max has a better pass and is just as safe under the high ball.

Let’s be honest here. The signing of Brough has set everyone back - Miller, Hampshire and Jowitt.

It's decision making where I think they differ.
Managing the defense and decisions of when to hit the line are improvement areas for Max. If he fixed them up he'd be great.
But how many times do we see Max hit the line only to stop and slide into a tackle. I finf that frustrating as when he gets it right his pass is top notch.

As I say I don’t think he’s smart enough or skilled enough from what I’ve seen. The NRL doesn’t let players as big as him go unless there is an issue and that issue imho is lack of smarts and dare I say a bit soft.

When you look at Batch and the effort he puts in for a small lad you can see the issue.

I was going to include Crowther but he’s suddenly not so small.

It was the signing of Grix that set Jowitt back.

We wouldn’t of been half the side we were without Grix going forward, him and Mathers were great attacking fullbacks.

Far more positives than negatives from Grix.

No one is set back by another signing. The best one plays. Simple as that.

But he puts by far the biggest hits in at the club. No contest there.

I could say that you're delusional thinking that Rocky is better at either fullback or halfback, but I won't. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but I disagree.

In my opinion, Jowitt is better under the high ball than Rocky. He had a really good relationship with Johnstone when given a run at fullback and put him in for plenty of tries when chiming in from the fullback position.
I won't say that I think he is better than Rocky currently at halfback but in the games he has played there I don't see him running the ball across the line and right to the outside edges of the pitch and leaving the three-quarters with nowhere to go, which I have seen from Hampshire many, many times.
How many games has Hampshire had at halfback, compared to Jowitt? Could Jowitt be as good as Rocky with the same amount of experience there? Again, just my opinion, but it's a yes from me.

If tanginoa is as you call it soft what the hell was pauli and hirst ,he could beat them both into a cocked hat on the park .Batch and Crowther are good lads and have a great future in the game but it’s battle hardened guys we need as well right now, seen as our main strike prop has spat his dummy out n taken his ball n bat home .And to that aim I think battye will go well If we sign him

His career in Australia and New Zealand said he was a second row or lock but never a prop until he came to us. I am sure Arona’s history will also not mention prop prior to joining us.

Chester must go or he needs a decent assistant is all well & good but we’ve not really been the same side since Finn & Grix left. Not saying their time wasn’t up at Wakey but we’ve never replaced their rugby brains in the side.

Unfortunately there are one or two on here that will never forgive Grixy for the error against Saints, and are blinded by that when it comes to the qualities he brought back to the club, same goes to a lesser extent with the perceived unfashionable Finn as well.

I think we could all think of an error that has benefitted us and gone against us by players and referees. The Bradford cup game for example or our interception try by Kelly at Hull in the last minute. With regards Grix it was generally considered he contributed more to the team than hurt it. It is sad that a full back is much like a goal keeper all their errors usually results in a try or a goal.

I’ll qualify what I meant, he’s a bit soft for a lad who looks like a monster. I agree though, compared to Pauli he’s Ronnie rock.

It’s not that I think he’s a bad player I just think he’s a touch over rated. In fact he’s the exact opposite of Battye. Battye doesn’t look right but is, Tanginoa looks dead right but for me doesn’t quite deliver.

Given time Jowitt Has a good chance of making it. The opinions of touch line international coaches like you and me will remain as irrelevant as ever. It’s what the player does that matters.
