Just to add a bit more meat onto the bones - Mellars has played 10 games for Fev - that is the required number so he can play in the play-offs. WTW have de-registered him before yesterdays game so he is now available to anyone who wants to sign him. Fev (if they want him) would have to have agreed a contract with him for him to play yesterday against Leigh which he was unable to do. I don't know if WTW have paid up the remainder of his contract.

Not sure about his contract, but can't see him being on loads. Deffo a possibility and the type of player i could see us getting in this situation to make up the numbers

There has been no movement regarding Vince mellars. He is still contracted until the end of next season. Now there's a fact!

No idea I was just busy enjoying an entertaining game between 2 rivals whilst trying to encourage new sponsors. Would like to thank the cas fans for a trouble free day apart from some of the singing which obviously causes offence. Nobody is lillywhite in these things but even my 7 year old was asking rather awkward questions!
Anyway the last 30 seconds still has me smiling.

I hope Wakefield can keep him next season and beyond as he's a fantastic player and the class he showed when he applauded us Cas fans after the game was very nice to see.

Maybe we should send Fox to Featherstone for next season and play Mellars on the wing if we can't move him on. Sure he would be better defensively than Fox and no doubt we are paying a fair chunk of his wage still so may as well get some benefit

I'd be looking to get out of the Mellors contract by now.
He hasn't played all year bar the odd emergency so he is just draining the cash.

I think Mellars is too expensive for the type of squad we'll be fielding next season; unfortunately, that also means he's probably too expensive for another club to buy out his contract on terms that he finds agreeable.

I thought he had played on the wing at crusaders but when of the know alls on here pulled me on that one, i looked it up and he didnt really at crusaders but had played a few times in aus on the wing

Vainakolo at his age on the wing would be better than Mellars now. I'd play him at prop and let him make the hard yards.

Don't think playing him at prop will attract other teams to sign him. Get him outside Collis and he maybe a different player.

He went ok in the 2nd row last year/ early this season . Think we could see him there if Tuson and Kirmond are not here next year
