This has been my thoughts for a while. This is fast turning into a scandal and Wakefield Council & the developer seem to be trying to wriggle their way out of it. To get such an enormous amount of greenbelt land to profit from and to then not fulfil the promises made to the citizens of Wakefield is disgusting. If money is needed for legal action I would gladly put money into the cause or if support is needed to put pressure on the relevant authorities for a public enquiry I am sure the will is there from the public. Such a fantastic season and we've got this crap going on in the background it's such a sickener.

I personally think that Yorkcourt as a company are skint, can't afford to fund the stadium (or any other development for that matter), and will delay and delay this whole sorry saga until nobody cares anymore;then go into liquidation or bankruptcy. The giant fridge will then stand alone ad-infinitum as a reminder to folk within a thirty mile radius of total incompetency!!!! Wakefield Trinity RLFC, the citizens of Wakefield and Wakefield MDC have all been mugs to corporate fat cat greed.

As i take it Yorkcourt ARE Newcold and there a far from being skint they just got a big contract off Ant-Bessie and other on the Horizon,Just to put it in respective Antbessies have between 35 & 50 Thousands Plts stored at Reedboardall at york which will generate hell of a lot on money and from sept these Plts will go straight to Newcold, Plus my company are looking at there prices as well for when it comes back up for tender.

Yorkcourt and Newcold are completely seperate companies, there is no connection. The previous poster is correct, Yorkcourt are skint and can't afford to build the stadium under the previous terms. Whether they have any intention to actually build it under new terms is open to debate as well, probably not is my thoughts. But i await Box's statement tomorrow and then the public release of the 'new' deal to see right where we are at. And it will certainly interesting to find out who the other 'new' trust members are.

Personally I blame the council

Plenty of blame to go around. Council are completely incompetent and Rodney Walker is an absolute cretin. Don't know how MC or CB haven't given the horrible bar steward a smack, the amount of money they've put in to the club and it could all go down the toilet thanks to that greedy see you next Tuesday.

The council have spent years saying it is nothing to do with them and allowing YC and Walker to circumvent the agreement and imo a stronger LA would not have allowed it.

Other LA!s appear proud of their sporting teams assisting in getting new stadia built whilst Wakefields couldn't care less.

The council for allowing York Court to make milllions from green belt land without providing the community facilities that allowed the development in the first place. Also us for being too nice towards the people who have failed to keep promises whilst making millions. If we have to move out of the City of Wakefield or lose our SL franchise because of them these people need to face the consequences of their actions. Why are Wakefield council letting them get away with it?

I have tweeted them asking as the LA what they are going to do about YC changing the whole deal so they can make more and deliver less but don't expect a reply

Could you put any kind of estimate on how much Yorkcourt could make from the site over a certain period of time? Is it enough for them to play ball if the council grew a pair and said "Right, you're not building anything else until we get a proper agreement."

We have only 14 days left [until July 31stto provide a watertight plan to the RFL regards Stadium. Does anyone think it possible to do this with all that has been going on in the last few weeks. Trinity's Super League future is at risk even though we have had probably our best season in SL, i just don't have the words to express how i feel, i am gutted, angry, to think we Wakefield citizens and Trinity supporters are on the verge of losing our only top class professional sports club.

More than enough to build a stadium but it looks like they want it all.
