| The abysmal play from Wakefield at the minute suggests neither is likely.

| Barrow must be gutted after conceding that try following a sustained period of bossing the game.

| Wakey was firmly in charge in the opening 30 minutes or so quickly going into a 12-0 lead, followed by about 10 minutes of poor play and errors. Still, the defence has been solid and Barrow hasn't looked like scoring, in fact, I can't remember them within 10 meters of our line. Then Griifin popped up for the try just before the halftime hooter to make it 18-0. Not the greatest game but the ball looks very slick in hand, so no wonder there's been handling errors in this crap weather. Hopefully, Powell will put them right like against Siddal and we can pull away and finish the game more clinically this half.

| Barrow finally get the try they deserve. I bet the Fev coach sat in our stand can see his side beating this rabble next week regardless of how the game developes as Barrow tire.

| Awesome start to the half from Wakey, not. Both teams are playing like the balls a bar of soap. Wakefield need to pull their fingers out here.
Atoni finally finishes a move-off in their 10 meters for a change. We seemed to have tried to barge our way over every time we've got down there this second half instead of going for a kick, which has been strange from us from what I've seen so far this season. There must have been about 4 or 5 times Barrow has started from nearly their line after we've not finished our sets off in their 20 properly.

| Pratt losing the ball on that 1st tackle from the restart eventually gets punished as Barrow score again.
Wakefield are actually playing to hang on.

Thank God for Renouf Atoni with 2 try’s
Barrow got their 2nd try because Trinity didn’t play to the whistle, basic elementary stuff

| This performance has generally looked like one of a team that's played a few too many easy games, although the weather hasn't helped for good RL, still not to our usual standard. As Powell said in the week we probably could have done without that many and a couple more against opposition in our league to get us more ready for the season. Anyway things to work on and we'll have got more out of this game, although it was all a bit subdued at times and lacked a bit of intensity IMO, than a walk over, onwards and upwards.

| Barrow never gave up and their kicking game both from restarts and in play was superior to ours I thought. One or two of our guys really need to up their game for next week.

| Little wake up call.
I thought Barrow were the better team in tbe second half but I don't think we were ever under threat of losing the game.
Play like that and win 30-12 - I'll take that but now that's out or our system we need to step up big time for next week and I'm sure we will.

| Watching the highlights, on our third try by Griffin someone said it was off a flukey bounce, tbh I think their winger should have dealt with it better and attempted to smother it or at least tried to trap so it didn't go anywhere, in this case straight back up in the air for Griffin to snatch it and score.
Like others have mentioned their kicking game, especially in the 2nd half kept them fairly close with good long kicks to get out of their half and their use of the short kick-off which was well used, but we should have dealt with it better once they used it once. We tended to go for the powerplay in their 20-meter zone numerous times for some reason.
I thought some of the penalties, especially at the PTB are getting a bit silly and pedantic, ruining the flow of the game and the spectacle as a whole for the punters. So many that got called I couldn't see a thing wrong, like if it looked close he called it. it just made a game that was being played under poor conditions and players were knocking on etc even more stop-and-start.
Though we lacked a bit of intensity on and off through the game and didn't come close to playing how we know we can, I'll take a win over a really game Barrow 30-12, in those conditions to move closer to a day at Wembley, which this comp is all about ateotd.

| Wasn't all pretty but we were never really in danger.
We need to be aware of teams kicking to the wings but generally they couldn't break our line.

| Running up cricket scores recently seems to have had a detrimental effect on our game ,looking at our at times lacklustre performance with too much one man rugby for my liking . Taking nothing away from Barrow who rallied after those early scores against and at times were the most enterprising with ball in hand .But a wins a win no matter what . Fev should be a hum dinger that’s for sure

| We have to accept that was a truly awful performance today yet we won because we are full time and it gives us that bit of resilience in spite of being very poor.
Its left me very worried for the season ahead when it comes to the games that will define it and our future

| It's all about winning. You get no further in a cup competition playing great open flowing good on the eye rugby. During this season I suspect there'll be occasions where we don't perform as well as other times, but being full time, I'm not sure many if any can live with us.

| We have a fair amount of strike power out. Jerry, Thornley, lino, Doyle, Kay. Playing poor and winning by 18 points for me sums up where we are. Look what happened in previous seasons when we played poor.

| I didn’t think we were in too much danger of loosing the game. The variety of kicks the Barrow lads put in tended to keep us guessing and certainly helped their cause in the poor conditions.
We tackled well and our props kept us on the front foot throughout the game. So with a 30:12 score line in a cup game..I’m not moaning….
The frilly stuff finished last weekend and it’s going to start getting harder as the season progresses…there will be different challenges from different teams and we need to make sure that we’re prepared… but so far we’ve achieved this…
Also thought Brad Walker was great for Barrow yesterday..

| Pat and Belle Vue with some of the most sensible posts on this thread. Barrow gave us a game which is what we wanted. One would think we lost the way a couple are going on here.

| Job done, it's all about getting through to the next round, which we did pretty comfortably.
Conditions were awful for much of the game too.
Barrow's in play kicking options were superb but, the moment of the match was Harvey Smith's solo effort.
Probably going to be away at Bradford in the semi which will be another step up from yesterday.

Well get used to it because we aren't going to score 70 points every match ! Barrow gave us a game.
It's exactly what we needed to stop complacency creeping in.
I'm sure with some team adjustments there will be a big improvement at Featherstone!
