| When we played Hull in their last season at the Boulevard, we were stood behind the posts watching our usual flogging, when a young girl came round pushing a pushchair , she looked about sixteen and the kid in the pushchair about three.
Two or three Trinity fans started making the odd 'comment' in her direction, at which point the kid in the pushchair gave them 'the finger'.
Obviously from one of the classier families in Hull.

| This memory comes from the 2003 season.
The SKY cameras were making their final appearance at Belle Vue in the 2003 season. With Halifax's relegation to National League 1 confirmed and 11th place of the 12 team league assured, Trinity were only playing for pride, while Hull had an opportunity of making the playoffs.
Hull wasted little time in taking an early lead through Richard Horne.
However, Wakefield we're ready to take a frustrating season out on the black and whites.
A critical moment came through a stunning 40-20 from Ben Jeffries, which lead to Michael Korkidas's opening score from the resulting scrum. Just minutes later, imaginative, flowing rugby, mainly courtesy of French trialist Sylvain Houles created David Wrench to score his first try of the season.
Wakefield's next try was from a controversial incident after a cynical off the ball tackle on stand-in captain David March from Jason Smith. After referal to the video referee, Super League's first ever penalty try was awarded and for his troubles, Smith sent to the sin-bin by Castelford referee namesake Russell. Jason Smith would spend a second spell in the sin bin later on in the match for holding down Steve Snitch. The best try came from Sylvain Houles, a long surging run in which he managed to resist the advances of Hull speedster Gareth Raynor for a spectacular try. There would be one more try from young winger Matty Wray and thereafter, all of Trinity's points came from the boot of Jamie Rooney, including a fabulous long range drop goal from 35 yards out.
Hull fought back with tries from Carvell and Whiting, but the deficit from the first half had taken its toll and the win marked arguably the finest performance in Wakefield's 2003 season and as for Hull, their chance of reaching the playoffs that season vanished.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember the exact result of this match, but taking an educated estimation, 35 - 22 to Trinity, if anybody can remember, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

| My main memory involving Hull was playing out of position on the left wing (so David Jones could play on the right wing) for Wakefield Trinity A Team in 1983, up against a 40 year old Clive Sullivan, at Belle Vue, winning the game, not giving Clive an inch to move in (although he was officially a coach not a player by that time), getting past him on a number of occasions and having a very decent game to boot. Shaking Clive Sullivans hand and for him to tell me that i had played well and had a very good future in the game. Coming back into the changing room to be told that I had been awarded 2 points in the MOM 3-2-1 taking my points tally for that season up to 10 (this was October, 7 weeks into the then winter season) only to be invited into the treatment room by the then Chairman, John Scaife, to be told that the club intended to terminate my contract with immediate effect. This was at 9.30pm ish, 2 and a half hours before my 21st birthday when I was due a double contract payment. To rub further salt into my wounds, he then went on to tell me that they would like me to stay with the club on an amateur contract and at some time in the future they may reinstate me on a professional contract.
Still bitter? No not me!!
ps. In 1983 you got suspended for not having a drink after training and/or the game.

We we at the Boulevard and early in the game Andy Fletcher intercepted pretty much on our own line and ran the length of the field to score. 3 point tries then so with the conversion we were 5-0 up. We tackled our hearts out for the rest of the game and won 5-2 - nerve wracking and I think it rained for much of the game. Wins at the Boulevard in those days were pretty rare.'"

| two more that I remember and a lot more of us
The home game in the mid 80s Wally Lewis in red white and blue Peter Sterling in black and white both on debut in a packed Belle Vue can’t remember the score but we got beat
And also a home game in 78 the season Hull went down this was the big relegation match and Keith Smith turned in a magical performance with a try 2 goals and a drop to win 9 7
I also remember Hull at home in their first season back in division one in the 79/80 season JPS game at wakey I remember this game for a number of reasons it was live on BBC Andy Fletcher scored a sensational try and we played in Red shirts with a white and blue bands with blue shorts for the one and only time that season we won the game by some distance

| I wasn't very old so have very vague recollections of the game, but I remember beating Hull at the Boulevard with a last gasp, and I recall it being a particularly flapped drop goal punt by Tracey Lazenby. I'm sure one of you guys can fill in the details. I think it might have been 15-14.

Pretty sure I remember him putting one over at BV to seal a game, so assume we were 6 points up with not long to go. No more details than that though.

Wonder if that's the game I was on about earlier with a bit of a scratch side and it chucked it down all game?

A former Robbin stealing victory from the FC crew was not received well by the FC fans.

| My memory of Tracey Lazenby, against Hull at the Boulevard, was when we were awarded a penalty in their '25' and TL proceeded to make a divot for a shot at goal. The Hull team stood back talking amongst themselves whilst TL (who had never indicated that he was going for the 'two') played the ball forward , picked it up, ran and launched himself through the legs of the Hull players and over the try line. Our opponents were still complaining when he converted the try. Don't remember the final score or indeed if we won.
