| Quote ="braytontiger"i went to watch hunselt warriors u10s vs cas panthers u10s this morning and im sad to say the game was abandond after an incident.
a panthers player ran the ball in and was punched in the tackle by the warriors no 4 who then went to have another go despite the referee blowing up, the ref held the no4 by his shirt to prevent him striking the panthers player again but the warriors coaches didnt like the ref holding the player and ran onto the pitch to confront the ref while the lads parent then ran onto the pitch looking to kill the ref and was threatening to hit him with a baseball bat,i tell you i have never seen anything like it.the panthers parents rightly pulled their kids off the field.
imo the referee was right to hold the no4 after it was about the 3rd time the lad had been warned about his behaviour, the parent who ran onto the field should never be allowed near a rugby field again, the referee had to make a quick exit from the ground in fear of repucutions.
i sometimes wonder why i bother coaching when incidents like this happen,i went today to watch an older age group than the one i coach and tbh i wish i hadnt bothered.
'"
one word =red[uRESPECT[/u, sadly not enough teams coaches and parents emphasise this. The lad who had been warned should of been pulled from the field of play by his coaches and given 10 minutes to cool off. as for the idiot with the bat threats he should be arrested and charged with an offence . im guessing the ref was a kid if so do the thickos not realise that if not for these youngsters then the games would end up in chaos.
moving on no game for rangers 9s this week as sadly birstall as folded, the 8s have the short trip to eastmoor weather permitting

Stick with the players/team you have and help raise the standards for others to follow. The game/players need YOU.

Big fines needed to stamp it out

a very tough game for the panthers this morning played in freezing conditions, both teams scored 4 tries but it was heworth`s goal kicking that proved the difference,my players are a bit down but they are playing without me on the field while heworth still had their coach on the field to give them direction, its tough for them at the moment but in the long runn they will reap the benefits.
thankfully no incidents to report today.

i made the decision because i felt we were ready to take the next step, from u8s this team were very good and very rarely lost a game, they were at a stage where they only had to turn up to win but they were begining to take it for granted and stagnating and not learning much.now they after make the decisions themselves and put into practice what we do in training.
to be fare to them they are doing very well despite making some errors but now they are learning again, the most important thing is learning to do things for themselves without having to be told.the easy option would be for me to stay on the field and call all the plays and win games but i have a lot of trust in my three playmakers who take it in turns to call the sets and they enjoy the responability.

yep and it happens throughout the game al at any level and this official should be brought to book but when men are running from the touchline to argue with a child in a refs outfit then i think that is compounding the situation and makes it impossible to train the kids to "Play to the whistle" .
so in answer to your question al to demand respect you must first off all give it , if you do give it then get none back in return the you must turn the other cheek and give the guy the week after respect as this time you may be dealing with a better caliber of person.
and yes I am guilty of criticizing the men in middle but in my own way.

I can see him being ok ish with younger age groups, but not at 17's as most of them are old enough to know right from wrong and by that i don't mean any disrespect the younger ones.

| i think its important the refs get respect but they too have to give it and hold their hands up when they get it wrong.there are some poor refs about but there are some good ones too and we would all prefer the good ones every week but it doesnt happen and never will.
a good ref is an honest ref who goes un-noticed unfortunatly many of the refs feel they are the game star and that goes for super league refs too.

Totaly agree with you.
Thats fair enough and i like to think all refs are different and i would in no way carry it to the next one, i've done a bit of reffing at Crigg in my time and i know how hard it can be, but i still managed to treat players/coaches with respect in the first instance.
By the way we lost 42-16 and the ref had no bearing on the result, they were by far the better side and deserved the win.

| Yorkshire Juniors take tough stance Added 2nd Dec 2008
Yorkshire Juniors manament are becoming increasingly concerned with the unprecendented rise in the number of cases that are coming to their disciplinary meetings this season.
And the league chiefs have warned that they will continue to dish out the heavy fines - or worse - in an attempt to stamp out the worringly high volume of cases that appear before them.
A spokesman for the giant Junior league warned that the management will not tolerate the rise in rule breaking and hinted that, if the current rise continued, it would only be a matter of time until we would be forced to impose much tougher sanctions.
The spokesman went on to say that they were having to organise extra disciplinary hearings as the number of cases was around five times the amount that they were used to dealing with, adding that the disciplinary meetings were begining to disrupt the running of the league and stated,
"It's time now for the unruly element - which is in the minority - to start acting responsibly and act in a proper manner in order for the league management to concentrate fully on their primary duty which is, to supply fixtures for children of ages 6 to 15 year old. We fully support and impliment the RFL RESPECT programme and would expect our member clubs to do so."
The spokesman continued, "The majority of the clubs are well behaved and act responsibly, we as a league management just hope that clubs are not sucked in to this worrying trend of ill discipline.
