| Sykes after match interview "Cas wanted it more than us". well thanks for the insight into the attitude inside the dressing room paul because that is not acceptable - its tantamount to an admission that you couldn't be d.

| Watched a bit of sky news and Wellens apologised for the performance that Saints put in and said" fans deserved better than that they pay good money to watch us" just shows the difference in attitude.

Speculating?
Just because he's from Cas I'm guessing. I should think signing any Wakefield player is low priority to any team in SL not least Cas.
If we get relegated I'm reckon he will be snapped up as a prospect but I wouldn't assume Cas.

Maybe we they are problems that contribute to our performances but they are very minor. Had them problems not been there I think we would of still been beaten by a large margin. The mind set of our players was the biggest single contributor to this and other dire performances under this coach.

Always a terrible comment, things might not work out, players may perform poorly, everyone may have an off day. Want should never come into it, particularly in a derby match in a relegation season.
This just adds fuel to the fire that Agar can not motivate his players.

Heard a rumour that his agent was touting him around and Cas were interested. Whether that is just to drive his value up in negotiations with us I don't know but he is out of contract at the seasons end and given the uncertainty regarding what division we will be in it wouldn't surprise to see him take the safe bet. It's ok though, the RFKL say relegation is the way forward for the competition and it's clubs......

Coming from Sykes who did appear to want it that's damning isn't it. Seeing as the supposedly past it Sykes has probably given us the best two moments of the last two weeks - a win - and a fine try yesterday, bless his old legs that will have hurt

He may or not have tried his heart out but other than the try he gave us very little else. And his kicking was abysmal.

Not sure what he could do TBH, he's made a niche for himself as an exploiter of the gaps made by other not by himself. He's not a classic HB we know that but at least against Widnes he had the vision to take on the line and create a match winning moment. Which other pivot player would have done that or finish off Riley's break. Truth is at the fag end of his career he is probably still our best HB (whose playing at HB) and that's in a position he's relatively new to - tragic really.

Isn't this now Wakefield's only part in Super League? Giving a chance to unknowns or forgottens so bigger clubs can have a season's view before making their own mind up.

| As I nipped to the loo after we romped to victory, I was collared by a Wakefield fan who congratulated me, we spoke for a few mins, he said we will be top 4, I said wakey would be 3rd bottom, we both queried why Godinet spends so long on the bench, overall a respectful chat. 40 mins or so later, the bloke with his wife n young toddler depart, sees me again, shakes my hand and says good luck, his daughter, probably 2/3 tops, then puts her hand out to shake my hand! Just a lovely bit of class and I had a bit of sympathy that good people had suffered such a weak and tame performance, some empathy though as we suffered that same feeling in 2008.

| I agree. I predicted 10th (ish) at the start of the season, but find myself hopeful of a top 6/8 now. I'd swap playoffs for a wembley appearance though.

| Top 3 will be Leeds, Saints & Wigan in any given order. It seems Warrington are now starting to find form, Huddersfield also. Both though seem more vulnerable than last year. I could see Cas sneaking in above one of them, although probably not both. So 5th or 6th for Cas is my prediction.
As for us probably 3rd bottom unless Bradford get all their points back. If they do then it's squeaky bum time.

| I think Castleford are a well drilled and coached side. No superstars but each player knows their role and what is expected of them and they execute the game plan both in attack and defence pretty much to perfection. They play some excellent rugby that is a joy to watch.
They may not finish in the top 4 but I can see them in 5th or 6th and deservedly so on what I have seen of them.
Just shows what can be acieved and what we should be aiming for.

And the catalyst for the upturn in fortunes was getting rid of an underperforming coach. At the point they got shut of Millward they were struggling on the field, crowds were way down and they were struggling financially. But they took the punt and never looked back. Now they are third in the league, crowds are packing the ground out and they have sorted their finances on the back of it. Strange how a upwardly mobile club suddenly seems a more attractive investment. Take note Mr Carter.

Really, not sure I would to be honest though I do accept that winning the play offs is far more important these days.

| I may be in the minority, but I would, without doubt, rather see my team at wembley than old Trafford.
I accept that things can change and if we were big enough to be competing at the top end of SL consistantly after say 10 years then who knows, but as things stand the magic of wembley has not died for me.

Halfbacks need time to gel is my guess.

| I thought Godinet was good today, he just had no one to pass to.
A couple of times he ran to the line looked left and right, ran a bit offered a pass, and no one near him moved.
Moore was the most enthusiastic. Unfortunately too much in one case but it started because he shot out of the line to make a tackle no one else was going to.
McShane tried, Wildie was poor.
Kirmond I thought was poor, certainly by his own standards and I'm thinking he should take some of the hit for team mentality. Not just Agar, though Agar still takes it.
The wings and centres had literally no ball so can't say whether they were good or bad.
Mathers was aweful. Please never play him again.
I can only ashume it was Agar tactics to take them on up the middle. One out football. We should have been putting them under pressure but we invited them in.
Very disappointing,

Thought McShane was also awful today, his passing was all over the place. Godinet looked what he is, a guy who hadn't played at halfback in a long time. Rest I agree with, would probably add in Ryan who had a decent enough game.
