| For me this is an issue about alcohol and adults : I'm 33 and me and my pensioner dad stood right at the front of the stand next to the female blonde ( heavily made up ) steward, centre sticks. We both saw the posters mid week about "the city is ours", thought it was quite good marketing but didn't turn into salivating, anti Cas bigots. We walked past two hoodied Cas 13 year olds who were describing Belle Vue as "this sh*t hole" but felt no need to wade in with fists. We stood two feet away from a Wakey fan who could hardly stand such was his inebriated state but didn't feel a need to join in with his "sh*g your mum" chant. We wanted to 'go north' to create an atmosphere and in our own small way, we did by applauding our ( rare) moments of skill on the pitch - being north didn't make us feel like charging the Cas fans immediately to our left or stubbing out a ciggy on their arm. When a Cas lady dropped her programme and purse, juggling two coffees and her sons rugby ball I picked them up and gave them to her rather than "raz her" and throw them onto the pitch.
Neither of us are members of the clergy, nobel peace prize winners or particularly "good people".
But like 9000 or so others in the ground, we're capable of watching a team we passionately care about without becoming involved in a riot. And we didn't even drink cos we didn't want to lose our spot - there must have been many thousands, possibly plastered who still didn't wage war or attack other human beings cos frankly they aren't ars*holes.
Its not the fault of "lets go north" or "the city is ours" - if you can't read that without wanting to punch somebody, you should be in an institution. Its not Wakey's fault for 'semi segregating' - many thousands stood within arms length of an opposing fan and DIDN'T get in a fight because they're rationale human beings. Its not Cas fans fault for standing in an area they're perfectly entitled to to use. Its not the stewards fault who I thought did a fantastic job and their level best not to be draconian until it was absolutely necessary.
Its your fault if you'd rather go to a game and sing at opposing fans rather than your own players. Its your fault if you chant "we'll stand where we want" with your arms out wide looking to provoke a fight. Its your fault if when wakey score a try your first response is to turn to cas fans and make w*nker and V-signs rather than cheer your own players. Its your fault if you pay £20 to get in to a game and then want to drink so much you can't remember where you are - why not stay at home do the same and save 20 ?
I'd throw out anyone who seems too plastered, bar anyone who arrives drunk and turf out the first who start shouting abuse or make even the slightest "come on then" aggressive gesture. But if this is deemed too unfeasible I'd agree with many on here who would move the kick off time to earlier or simply not serve the booze. Any loss of revenue will probably be offset by the loss of many who now won't return to Belle vue based on that night.
I'm sure to be shot down for sounding 'holier than thou' but still maintain that the vast majority on here and in the stadium are 'adult' enough to attend a game, have a drink, stand where they'd like and still not punch another individual in a different coloured shirt. For the minority who aren't capable, lets spend our efforts driving them permanently from our beloved sport, rather than waste our time petty point scoring over CEO's, advertising campaigns, "they threw . . . they said . . . . ", blaming each other, stewards or segregation.
The minority of idiots should not be allowed to win or force concessions or changes that will affect the majority of passionate fans on either side of the divide.

But that is assuming that all the home fans who have stood on the western terrace for years fall in with the "Go North" mantra,it's not just the away supporters you have to convince,it's a fair proportion of the home ones too.

We have certainly dug a hole for ourselves, but to be honest I was under the impression most Trin fans were all for the give us a roof campaign. TBH home fans could still stand in the West stand, it's probably got a big enough capacity to house any away following with room to spare and going back to my other point I feel supporters can mingle on uncovered stands. The Railway end at Cas has seen plenty of quiet mingled halves and I've never seen trouble at the uncovered terracing at Leeds when fans have mingled.
Put a roof over any terracing and it just seems to change the dynamic.

| It is our home ground north stand belongs to us now if Cas don't like it don't come simple, and Mr Wright in my opinion should be hauled over the coals for his part in inciting a riot with his comments in the express the mans a tool.

Wakefield was guilty of trying to incite an atmosphere that hasn't been present for some years due to lack of stand,
Castleford was guilty of thinking we was confining them to a limited area and made it public
yobs then used this as an excuse as a stand off,
loads of mistakes made both clubs should hold their hand up and admit that they got it horribly wrong but why do you think that there is bitterness
lets wait until the P.I. comes rolling in and we will see what happens after

The club had an idea that the combination of the opening of our new stand, local derby and late kick off could cause problems and decided on away fans eat terrace. Old tricky dickie put his nose in when there was no need just like with the PI and was proved wrong. Anyway it in the past now whats done is done hopefully cas will only have one more visit before we move to Newmarket and ground you might become familiar with

Long before the club got hold of the idea, a lot of fans here and on facebook etc were wanting everyone to make the North stand home, the club seems to have obviously got wind of this and started a bit of a campaign to encourage Trinity fans there. The club thought they were doing what the fans already wanted and had been asking for.

| Quote ="Rumour13"For me this is an issue about alcohol and adults : I'm 33 and me and my pensioner dad stood right at the front of the stand next to the female blonde ( heavily made up ) steward, centre sticks.
Rant over.'"

No - he's blaming idiots who choose to get drunk and behave badly; we had people from both sides of the common doing that on Friday night and as a result, things flared up.
