| Quote ="fevfan76"Heard today from a couple of Wakey fans that the debt is much more than the 400k stated and Agar has told all the players if they want to find themselves a new club they will be sold
Dont have a clue if its true or not, just posting a rumour
'"
of course the debt is bigger, its massively bigger, the 400K is operations shortfall to get us through to the next income of cash. The off season we have 19's and first team squad to pay, plus every non playing staff member too ! That's what's needed, the debt is another huge problem, so is the directors loan from west York's window's at over 400K itself Unlike you flat cappers who have millions of pounds worth of land as assets, plus you own your ground, we have no ground, and no assets, its not rocket science that we are in deep poo poo

I'll tell you then - he's not!
The only one on there is Ben. I'm not saying that we won't lose anymore players, but I don't think that those are accurate at this time.
Salford are still the most likely culprits - if or when any further changes occur.

Thats not strictly true, Amor to Saints is the one you need to watch for.

The first club to make an official approach/offer to WTW for Kyle Amor was HKR albeit a few weeks ago now. The well publicised financial woes at WTW has started a bidding war and HKR aren't out of it yet.
As far as I am aware HFC made enquiries, offering Johnson as part of a deal, but both Amor and Johnson said no.
I would be surprised if he goes to Saints mainly because they rarely buy-in players.
The obvious destination is Salford but no matter what the Doc says signing Amor will have them sailing very close to the SC unless they release cap space, but you never know.

To be fair the new chairman has only been involved and a fan of the club in recent years whereas those of us on here who have been supporting them for 25 years plus have a familiar sense of de ja vu with this current situation, so can be forgiven for thinking there will be more players going out the door and potentially sooner rather than later.
Clubs who have the budget and are willing to pay a fee will not wait around for ever and the nearer we get to the end of the two months to raise the 400k, the lower any fees for players will be. For these reasons I believe that if any decent offers come in in the next few weeks and there have been no clear signs of investment, players will be sold.
The concern is that with stories of advancements on next years sky money plus over a quarter of the season tickets budgeted for having been sold and a chunk of that money already been used,, how are we going to avoid been back in the same position in a years time or less?

To be honest at times like this it is best to keep away from forums because most people tend to be negative.

It's not the speculation about the players, mate. That's part and parcel of the game, always has been. When things are going well, fans speculate about who we're about to sign; when things are going badly, they speculate about who's going to leave. Most Wakey fans on here are sufficiently savy to be able to tell the difference between trolls on a wind-up and genuine contributors. What gets me is when other people are dragged into it who really aren't in the public eye, and are just trying to do their jobs in increasingly difficult circumstances. And then it turns out that the rumour, or at least one half of it, is untrue anyway! IMO, it's totally unnecessary and extremely unfair.
I understand the fans' perspective and the wish to know what's going on, but a healthy dose of self-censorship wouldn't go amis at times too. I'm sure if anyone were to leave, the club would make it known, and the time to talk about it would be then.

Then calamity becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Withdraw support (money) and the sale of payers is inevitable. Offer support, bring in money, and you may be able to retain what you've got. Everyone makes their own choice, of course, but ultimately, that's how things will pan out.

=#400080Do we? you/we do not know that at all, we may expect it - but that is totally different. You trying to pass it off as fact is as gamaging to the club as what you are accusing them of.
but the club still want us fans to come and buy ST etc but how can we be expected to.
=#400080Of course they do, and if we don't we have helped to see the club off, its very simple - if we don't back them they will cease to be at least as a super league club.
i get that its needed but really only die hard fans will i for one will probally not go to as many not because i just walk away when things arnt good but because of the reason i go i go to enjoy and whats there gonna be to enjoy about watchin the team i love getting smashed every week........sorry to say none
=#400080And here lies the trouble and why with bad management we end up in this situation as often as we do, supporters only want the best and even then they aren't prepared to pay for it, only being interested in cut price STs and then still bemoaning this that and the other.
We dont have a wealthy backer and we are'nt Leeds or Wigan therefore we are in a dog fight until we can be more profitable and then maybe we may be able to attract more investment. Until then its down to everyone to pitch in.'"

I don't know whether I'll buy a Season Ticket if we go down but I will be paying on the door and still watching.
Saying that I've already got mine for next year so I'm daft enough to do it anyway.
At the end of the day I don't support individual players, I support Wakefield rugby league club....and whichever players play for them. So the who's playing question won't stop me going.

That's your perogative - however the more people that react like this, the less chance there will be of there being a club to come back to at some point in the future.
I've got my season ticket, as I have had for as long as I can remember and I'll do whatever else I can to help the club through this mess (unfortunately I don't have £M's to spare otherwise we would not be having these discussions).
Wakefield Trinity is a part of my life and I don't want to lose it, so I'll do what I can. If the worst happens then at least I will know I tried. I wish the club wasn't at this point again, but it is, so now is the time for us all to stand up and fight for what we want.

The problem is i'm hearing plenty of fans reacting in that way, many have had enough and just don't have the stomach for the fight anymore. I've also heard it said that it is like watching a dear old relative ebbing away and they are in so much pain that everyone will be glad when they are finally at rest and the pain and stress are over. People have had enough of the false dawns, the lies, the disappointments year after year.
Without a multi-millionaire coming in we are never going to compete with the big boys, at best the odd decent season and a play-off game is as good as it will get. Society is a different place these days, people want everything tomorrow, they want instant success. Patience is a dinosaur and the fans that jumped on the the good ship Trin on the back of cheap tickets when things were looking up, won't hang around when the proverbial hits the fans. They'll be off to find the next bandwagon.
Problem is this time many of the old guard are battle weary and have had enough, especially so soon after the last meltdown. Right now many of these, who have fought tooth and nail in the past, would be willing to let the old relative pass away to ease the pain so they don't have to go through it all again. Its sad, but you know what?, I wouldn't blame them for walking away this time if thats what they want to do. They have done their time, they have earned their stripes and there are other, less stressful, things in life to do that don't involve Wakefield Trinity. They are probably cheaper as well.
My ticket is bought for next year but after 30 years the enjoyment is starting to wain. I don't have any extra money to spend on the club, in fact circumstances are dictating that I am probably going to have to spend less this coming season. And I know i'm not the only one, times aren't great financially for many and because of that the clubs plea for financial help from the fans could be a forlorn one. With relegation next year the clubs superleague future is at serious risk but we are likely to be going into the season with a weaker side whilst all around (maybe bar London) are strengthening theirs. And relegation could well mean an elongated spell in the lower divisions and a lost generation of fans as a result. I hope we can get through the next couple of months and a white knight rides in to saves us but right now things seem quite bleak. It's a bad time to be having a bad time.
