To be honest I wasn't all that impressed, I just said that in the vain hope that that you let it alone. It was a kind of fop to help you with your ego issues, because clearly you can't accept that others were not as impressed as you clearly were.

So basically yes pages 1, 7 and 9 are agreed by the defendant. I'm also still sing at TRB's awesome description, partly because I think he is wrong (only an opinion) but mainly because it was so out of character and just got me that way. I'm also still quiet amazed and amused at the reactions of you and Haywire to me not being as impressed with Greg Bird as you think I should have been.

Take a look at yourself, all this boils down to is that I and my new best chum Adam had the audacity not to agree with TRB's description (sorry to keep dragging him into this) of Bird as awesome and having the nerve to voice it. Oddly I didn't agree with Bigals nice description of Bird as a waste of skin but that seems to have past you by. I just wasn't impressed, maybe I never will be but me and Greg will remain friends.

Just for you okay. Vasty said he wasnt overly impressed by Bird and thought that TRB's description of awesome was somewhat over the top. TRB, Haywire and Mwildcats thought differently and from that we have had something like 10 pages on this thread, with me so far. Somewhere along the line you have come in and you are rightly entitled to do and once again locked horns with Vasty. You asked me to read the thread from the beginning which I had done and in my opinion not only did you get ANOTHER 2nd with Vasty but I thought that he also won the debate against the other 3 fwiw I hope that answers your question mark. If its for something else then I do apologise for the ignorance on my part.

No fair enough i do not think i entered into a debate with Vasty about Greg Birds performance as i did not see it.

If you agree with Vasty on Barrett again fair enough, but you are in a small minority, that is contrary to the opinion of the players he played against and the Worlds coaches and journalists who named him the top 6 in the world.

If i have it right in the second paragraph, although entitled to your opinion, i do feel sorry for you and Vasty for not being able to recognise and enjoy such a player regardless of who they play for.

Your pushing against an open door there. TB was class but please dont sidetrack the issue with Barrett, the debate was predominently about Bird. You obviously fawn over him other people arent really interested mainly because he does not play for us. Once again fwiw I am in the opinion that Vasty has come out on top. Just live with it he is half a page in front of you.

My only debate with Vasty was about Barrett though, so where you imagine the Bird debate came from i have no idea. I was not at the match and cannot comment.

What i did say is that I think he will be a top class player and the type of player that can turn a game on its own, based on the last few years of watching him in the NRL.

I also proposed that some people may well rate him on Sunday, again not me as i was not there, off the back of knowing what to expect from him and seeing glimpses of class, that when taken into the context of him not playing first team rugby for so long and the 24000 mile journey could well have accounted for why they rate him.

What i would say is that it seems to me that while one of the major points made by some is that some fawn over the reputation of some players, others also chose to try to shoot them down regardless of performance because they come with a big reputation.

Your first 2 paragraphs' seem to contradict themselves. Your third paragraph not really sure of your point assuming there is one. And finally the posters' that were debating with Vastman were not exactly fawning over him, just pointing out how good he was. Which incidently you have pointed out to us in other threads' where it was your good self that was actually fawning over him. Try not to muddy the water all the time and admit you dont always get it right for once. Everybody knows how good Barrett and Bird is but they dont always want it ramming down their throat.

So?

At the end of the day, even if Bird had been out of this world on Sunday, it is more than likely that Vasty would have disagreed anyway, wittered on about it with post after post trying to 'draw' other people and then when everyone else was bored of the 90 page thread, he would have looked in the mirror, patted himself on the back and told himself 100 times that he was the best. Standard fare over the past X amount of years.
