If you keep doing things the same way and it’s not working then change it and change it till he finds solutions. As for coaching credentials there quite good to be honest but like I said doesn’t mean I know anymore than an ordinary supporter as you put it.

| Quote ="Kirmudgeonlyisback"I think if your being kind to the coaching team - Hampshire’s not fit , linos carrying an injury jowitt , (allegedly) battye wood are actually out due to soft tissue injuries - so with exception of miller and westerman all our pivot players are struggling - personally think that’s a bit of a giraffe - we are only two weeks in after longest close season I can remember. Yet we just look exactly like the team that finished last season . Same issues of poor numbering up in defence , fading in second half etc etc tbh looks another long season ahead'"
Well they need to be fully fit so they can have some kind of impact

| Ler's be honest. Our survival in SL over the last few years has depended more on factors beyond our control rather than us winning matches.
Any reasonably minded adult can see that our "luck" is bound to run out sometime and if the last forty odd games are anything to go by we're not likely to achieve our future by skill, and we can't ride ride our "luck" much longer. I can't see our current "benefactors" remaining should we suffer the dreaded drop; and I doubt if we could find anyone willing to invest in a Championship club in this day and age. Therefore I see 2021 being the defining season for whether there is a future for Wakefield Trinity RLFC or not. All the more reason to get our problems, and there are many, sorted NOW!!

You can't just rewrite history to suite your argument.
We have survived in Super League exactly because of the number of games we have won.
Last year was the only year we were close and we still won 2 more games than the team below us.....and I think its fair to say that the factors beyond our control last year were working against us not for us.
I don't disagree that we have problems but lets focus on real issues rather than just making things up.

| CC stated the culture at the club had to change, players were on a warning blah blah blah. Lovely bloke, not in question. The sell by date has passed and previous close friendships look costly. Things being said to media seem poor and badly judged.
We have issues of quality at 7 and 9 and lack of fire power at 8 an 10 and once more either suspect fitness or attitude. Apart from that, no problem.
I don’t want it to be like this but seriously, most of us have seen a lot of action and are worried. You cannot just let a business stagnate and watch clients disappear and go down the tubes. Sometimes there is no option than literally throwing the balls in the air, having a clear out and taking another direction.

D1d we not "escape" relegation by virtue of the fact that the Welsh side decided that they couldn't carry on in SL?
Did we not survive relegation on the basis of an imminent "New ground" that never materialised during the franchising era?
WE may have survived SL on the basis of "Games that we have won", but conversely we've been under the threat of relegation most seasons because of the games that we have lost.
Over the twenty two seasons that we have been in SL our average finishing position is between 9th and 10th. Not even top 8.
I suppose we can take some heart in the fact that we are one of the few sides that have never actually been relegated from SL.
I wish I had your eternal optimism. PT.

| We know Carter does not want to sack Chester so why not make him the head of rugby for the balance of his contract. The post should exclude the day to day training or team selection which will be the responsibility on the new coach being that Last or someone else.

Can’t honestly say I m looking forward to the cup game - mcolorum is back and Tomkins seems to have recaptured his early Wigan form , but this is Wakefield'"
I took my level 1 coaching co in the same class as Chester. Not Chris but his dad Richard. Think we were the 2 oldest in the group. lol

I don't get your point.
You actually say yourself that we have average of 8.so we are here because we win enough games.
The Celtic thing happened 10 years ago...... You said "our survival over the last few years"....... I didn't take that as the same thing. I'm not sure anybody involved then is even at the club now.

| A few weeks back someone posted how its make or break for some this year.
I think it is is, and here is my take in some.
Hampshire - I like him and personally think he is better than Miller, but sadly just doesn't seem to fit. He needs to find a settled position this year. If not I can see him moving on.
Kay/Kershaw/Senior - For me, not much in these at all, all OK, but certainly not in the same league as what BJB were, and I feel are the weak links in the three quarters
Tupou - Not been the same player since his injury. He has though, had some good sparks in the 2 games thus far this season.
Miller - He looked to go backwards in the past couple of seasons, which could be captaincy. He has to prove he's the better running half. He has, looked quite sharp at times in the two games so far.
Lino - I think all new signings at any club, have to prove themselves.
Fifita - We all know about his injury seasons, but with added off field troubles as well as a very poor, by his standards year last year, we really need a big year out of him.
Green - At 6'5" a big unit. Sadly I don't think he plays to his weight very well. Which us a shame, as he could be an asset if he did this.
Tangata - A trier, and god loves a trier, but you can't always succeed at this level on effort alone. I just feel you want something a bit more with your quota spots.
Arona - It pulls to put him.on this list. His work rate is phenomenal, and shouldn't really be on this list. My logic on this, is the fact he's used as a prop, but at only around 16st, I don't think he's big enough to play there week in, week out at this level, and should be in the back row, but given who we already have there, may struggle to make the 17.
Josh Wood/Jordy Crowther
Their work rate in defence is outstanding and I don't think we have better defenders at the club right now. However, at the moment they are sharing the hooking duties. Hooking is an integral part of attack too, and I think the movement of the ball is just too slow.
Marry Ashurst
Sadly, not been the same I don't think since his back injury, and with other back rowers at the club, I'm not convinced he is first choice anymore

When you say, last year was the only year we were close, are you talking about being relegated/finishing bottom?!! What about 2019 when we had to beat London on the final day? 2 MPG'S against Cas & Bradford?! I do recall MC at least a couple of times saying we can't keep flirting with relegation like this, including 2 years ago..........and then we went and did it again last year.

To be fair I tried that, but to no avail! I've kind of shoved them right to the back of my mind, and the individual games where we've been royally hammered but hey ho what can you do eh......

I could be wrong, but I think we could have lost that game, and still survived. One of the other bottom team lost their game, and would have finished below trinity on points difference.

Correct.
I know it wouldn't have been a perfect scenario, but If we'd have lost Hull KR would have gone down instead and London would have survived.
