Regardless of the Hock situation, we are in a better position as of yesterday night with the sacking of Brian Noble, you would have to say on topic in my opinion on the playing side of things no club has been through it and underachieved as much as Wigan have thus far.

From a performance / expectation point of view, I’d say it was too close to call. Wigan could still make the C.C. final, Hull & Bradford could still make the eight.

I find it so amusing that two of the three clubs have attendances we would die for, yet, they are performing at a lower level than us. At least their supporters can despair, in the comfort of their shiny stadiums.

The dross served by our underperforming ex coach, despite having players with far more ability than they are being allowed to show.

I agree, its Wigan, the single most famous club in the World, and I have to say that the sad passing of Mike Gregory who IMHO would have been a great coach is one of the main reasons for the last few years of poor Wigan sides.

I fully beieve that had Mike lived he would have built a Wigan side full of not only English players, but Wiganers who would have run themselves to death for their home town club, and Greg himself.

Without wanting to derail the thread but has Noble actually being sacked? You would’ve thought it would’ve been a bigger news story then the rather obvious ‘McRae keen to keep Myler’ filler on SkySports.com.

With the Wigan being in the semi-finals of the CC and with Nobles’ teams notorious in their up turn in form at the business end of the season it seems a bit of a strange decision, particularly when his contract is up at the end of the year.

Not sure about this either. I was under the impression he'd simply been told that his contract would not be renewed. It's certainly fair to say that he hasn't got anywhere near the best out of the resources available to him, whereas Bradford, for example, have much more limited resources than was probably ever the case since the start of SL. Wigan as the under-performers of the season so far for me too - but as you imply, this could change.

As i understand it a press conference has been called. We shall see but the rumour is very very strong that he will not be in charge come the time we play Hull KR on Sunday, and in fact that he has not been in charge since Monday of this week.

Time will tell i guess.
