| Hope everything isn't as bad as the rumours that are circulating. As much as I dislike them I'd miss the derbies. Them cas fans jumping with delight and gloating when Newmarket got called in and when we went under might live regret it, hope us City folk are more dignified.

| Heard loads of rumours yesterday at the GF, seems like supporters of many clubs have their own version of what's going on.
I'd like to think its just Ferres' way of rallying the troops for a ST drive that's caused the stir.

| Heard yesterday that it has been suggested that the Wakefield Community Stadium be named Newmarket Stadium instead. This is because Cas will not play in a stadium called Wakefield but they may consider playing in Newmarket Stadium.

I think only if naming rights aren't sold it would be called the Wakefield community stadium, coca cola community stadium of clipper logistic stadium more likely. I think S Ferres would get involved at Newmarket if he could like a shot might be their only option if they have money troubles, newmarkets nearer to wheldon rd than it is to belle vue so could still be an attractive option for them.

| I'd suggest Wakefield District Community Stadium should be as far as the change should be needed to go, not that any change should be needed as GH will happen!!

Thats exactly it will be. An over exaggerated view of the finances will be put forward followed by a pull on the heart strings to sell more season tickets. I've always been told that Cas fans are the best and most loyal in the world. One bad season of mediocrity and the fans are leaving in droves. Best fans in world by

1 bad season of mediocrity???? 2004 last, 2005 National League, 2006 second bottom, 2007 National league, 2008 last, 2009 7th, 2010 9th, 2011 9th, 2012 joint last with every single side in the league putting 40+ on us (apart from Salford) at 1 stage or another, dumped out of the cup by part timers (for the 3rd time in 6 years may I add). All this whilst still paying top dollar prices unlike a fair few other clubs in the league. A little more then the manipulated "1 season of mediocrity".

Next season can't be any worse on the field, off the field though, there are worries. As for promoting the club Snowie, that was never my aim, my aim was to show that its not been a bed of roses with 1 poor season..

If Cas Tigers were to play at Newmarket that would suggest we would have sold Wheldon Road which we haven’t. That would also suggest we would then become one of the richest clubs in RL which also couldn’t be farthest from the truth.

Cas need to look at the business model they have. The ground needs some little bits doing but most of all they need to get a team playing well together.
The cas fans will keep watching games just like wakey fans do if the effort is there. After speaking to some of the cas fans i work with and watching a couple of games. The players seem uniterested and played with no effort.
I think on the field they are putting together a better squad than they have had for the lasst couple of seasons but is it going to be off field issues that affect the club?

| As I've said all along, their best option would be to flog WR, pay off their debts, trouser the remaining funds and move into NM with a healthy cash reserve; I still believe that's what will happen.

I think we would drop out of SL first. Moving to NM would be the begginning of the end IMO.

I think under RW you may well have done that, he was at the end of his tenure and had his ego to protect; defiant to the valiant end!!
Ferres and France (if involved) would have a very different view, so i would expect e change in tack to the constant talking up of the situation (a la RW) to a more honest approach.
Its then up to the fans to get on board and see where it takes you.

| As a Wakefield fan it has been pretty sad to see that local rivalry has now become more vindictive. This year as a club the way we build up the match at ours caused friction and I think the game itself should create this not with the board adding fuel to the fire. But that has been done to death.
Moving forward the only thing we need to look at is how to make rugby league in the Wakefield district stronger. This area has been a hot bed for quality rugby players, Westwood, Burrows, Ellis etc.
The teams Wakefield, Cas ,Fev don't have the glamour of the big clubs and we also don't have the population. So we need to stand together. Really what does it matter what the stadium is called "Wakefield District Stadium" seems appropriate this doesn't mean that it is Wakefield's or Cas's but it is for teams in the Wakfield district. If this gives the three team mentioned a better chance of top flight lets not be too precious.
It maybe that Richard Wright fought against this but the boards of the teams need to be grown up and work together. Three team paying rent may help avoid the trouble Salford seem to be in. The boards of the three teams mentioned need to talk to each other and leave there egos at home and let thier head rule their hearts.
I will always enjoy beating Cas but don't want to see them drop down or fold. If both team can find something toegether that can help with the limited finances or improve the prospects for both clubs let do it. If Fev think that playing in this stadium can help great too.
Richard Wright created some of this due to his ego but let move on and forward for the good of Wakefield district.
Name of the stadium? It really doesn't matter. Who gets the high ground by whose stadium was it first going to be? It really doesn't matter. Will the clubs benefit with attendances and chance of playing in the top tier? It does matter. Will sharing a stadium stop the situation at Salford with sharing stadiums cost? That does matter.
Merger? No thanks we are two proud individual clubs.

The sentiment of your post is right just not the practicality IMO.
Name of the stadium? it does matter, because 1) cas are reluctant to share 2) cas are reluctant to be classed as wakefield 3) cas would be less reluctant to share a ground called wakefield whatever stadium, which as it is a stadium for the district of wakefield it should be called.
Will the clubs benefit? no some may not if their supporters are reluctant to go.
Merger? personally i think there is a way round this, however to the people that can only see black and white; two dominant west yorkshire clubs with strong identities playing out of the same ground, little chance of a merger between the two, but does that sound like us and cas?
