| As per usual, I am looking for your best / worst memories of games against the Londoners.
Some will remember Fulham in 81. Others may remember the Nuns / Elvii / Tango men. Your choice - and so much to choose from!

| Los of memories such as the nuns, Bernie Clifton and Ostriches racing at half time but the one that sticks in my mind was Brads Army. We were stood outside the Griffin pub enjoying a pint or three when we heard a noisy commotion round the corner and wondered what the hell it was. To our surprise there was a column of Wakefield Fans in fancy dress in World War II uniforms all marching in time up the street - hilarious. All the locals came out of their houses and watched this wonderful spectacle.
Another one was standing ouside the Griffin (see a theme developing here) when a London Cab pulls up and out gets a guy in swimming trunks, flippers, water wings, beach ball and a snorkel and goes in the pub. He was seen during the game with people pouring beer down the snorkel and a picture of this appeared in the following years programme with a comment of Enjoy Victoria Bitter Responsibly.

| I remember after our visit to Craven Cottage a crowd of enthusiastic Londoners saying "well done lads, see you in the semis!". 20-odd years on, I still don't get it!

| A rainy day in Brentford standing behind the posts singing 'Wakefield 'til I'm dry, I'm Wakefield 'til I'm dry' while others ran to the cover of the stand.

| Struggling with this one as I have never been on one of the now famous london weekends. 81 was one I heard about on many occasions. I think ex Widnes player Reg Bowden may have played that day and did he also play in the final in 79? To be fair we normally have the better of our home encounters. One game at BV that does spring to mind six or seven years ago perhaps we managed to snatch a draw with the last move of the game think we needed conversion to win it. Baking hot day I think?

Remember it well it was my birthday as well.
Unfortunately I was working at the IMBEX fashion exibition at earls Court and try as I might I could not blag it off for a couple of hours.
So I had to make do with the topless Brutus Jeans girls taking a shower in a perpex cubicle every hour and making do with Miss Gt Britain on our stand as a guest all day.
Who as it happens after being plied with a few Mateus turned out to be a right ol slapper so it was'nt a bad birthday after all.
Still a shame i missed the game though.

| Standing outside the hotel on the morning of the game waiting for the buses when 2 guys with big 'taches, headbands and 118 logo launched themselves out of reception and galloped round for 5 minutes.
Also when the buses stopped in some leafy little village for a meal, the players followed shortly after and a few of them decided it'd be a good idea to swim in the canal outside the restraunt.

| Martin Moana doing the Haka in Stoke Bruen (spl?) about late-ish on the way home.
In fact all the players did a bit. A young Rinaldi running for cover when called upon. Brad leading the Aussies in 'We love you Wakefield".
Another when John Harbin brought the team in, lead by Willie, to our after match dinner, to apologise after a drubbing.
And the all in Rugby match, on the Brad's Army trip.

| Probably not worth a mention in the context you require but; Keith Smith's try in the cup game at Craven Cottage still ranks as one of the top scores I ever seen.

Why wouldn't it be worth a mention? Keith Smith was a fantastic player and that game was, by all accounts, superb. Keep the stories coming!
