Quote ="rubber man"You may note a first post on this issue reflecting the personal interest in the topic. Like crowt123 I have concluded similar thoughts on the positives negatives of season ticket investment and would throw in another slant.
As a father of three under ten year old, male, passionate RL and Trinity (sorry Wildcat) fans the sum effect of this seasons commendable efforts by the club to attract new fans has been frustration at not being able to see most of the rugby action (as more dancing means more adults standing at the pitch perimeter) and questioning as to why is all the game day entertainment more attractive to little girls?
As a long time supporter I am keen to see a secure top flight future for the club. I no longer live in the district, so game day is a reasonable effort, particularly with three kids. I am sure I am not the only mum/dad who has worked hard to maintain their kids interest in the game, in a terrible stadium for young spaectators.
I hope the cost benefit of the investment in dancing and live acts is actually being considered because I for one fear the genuine benefit of a day like yesterday may be a considerable number of people who came to see a TV act, didn't appreciate there was a crucial end of season game going on, who will not darken the clubs door again until Susan Boyle or whoever is on next turns up. Effectively has this transient group at £10 a throw simply paid for Diversity?
Concluding, I would like to think that speaking up for the signed up junior season ticket holders (the genuine future of the club) the investment in a season ticket should give them the opportunity to secure as decent a vantage point in the ground as is possible as they appear to be the biggest losers on a day like yesterday.
That's it...rant over, you wont hear from me again for another 5 years!'"
You make some good points but if i can add.
1 The club shop "packed out before the game"
2 The Tea bar "packed out during the game"
3 The beer wagon "packed out during the game"
How much revenue the club gets through these outlets (shop obviously) i don't know, would like to think of the bigger picture maybe?
I won't wait 5 years for a reply
