I was a Bingley Music Live in Myrtle Park when I was stopped by a bloke at a trade stand trying to sign people up to Br*dford B*lls season tickets.

Now admittedly I told him to do one as I'd expect any Cougar fan to do.

The bottom line is though is the club aren't selling themselves enough to the local area. Why weren't we there? We're the local rugby league club as far as Bingley's concerned.

I'd say there was 10,000 there last night with more than that today and Sunday and they all had to walk past this stand.

What are the club actually doing to improve attendances? A few flyers here and there and a bit on the back of the KN aren't going to cut it, it's amateurish.

But that's targeting new fans, not current ones that already season ticket holders. This might have been a goo idea after you got promoted. I mean this with the greatest respect but would buy a season ticket for a club that's just been relegated whether it was local or not? I wouldn't.

You wonder how many will sign up to the B*lls given their recent losing streak.

I know what you mean. But we don't do enough to attract either current or new fans.

Then they do really stupid things like putting season ticket prices up by 20% for next season meaning I for one won't be buying one.

Whats the worry, we are going to be in SL in fives years time.

Given the erratic nature of the promotion system these days all you need is a millionaire to buy the club and you'd be up from which ever league you were playing!

I am Sorry to see Helen go, must have been a thankless task. Uphill struggle with no funds and lets be honest a product to sell that wasnt the best, only for the true fans.

Sums it all up really, so sad. The people who care and contribute at personal cost keep getting cast aside.

Still, at least it means we'll be in Super League in 4 years time (one year of the 5 year plan having just finished) because we can invest more in the team to get promotion next year.

I wish I wasn't so negative or cynical. I really do. But it's all about sustainability which is about vision and a clearly defined strategy, not a wish list. I don't think we've had that since 1995. At least we could blame external influences then, but not now. People like Helen should have been a key part of the strategy, not the sacrificial lambs.

Oh well, here we go again...
