After reading the Keighley news today, and seeing that cost cutting is to be done, which like any business has to be done at times, I was suprised to hear from a wide variety of people the same thing...one of the people being made redundant is Helen Carter.
I hope for the sake of the club this is NOT true, Helen has done more for this club than anyone else who has ever held her position.
She has gotten us sponsorships, which for a town who the majority don't care about their team anymore is a feat in itself, she is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be(a quote borrowed from Bret Hart) But it isas true for Helen as it is for Bret.
If for some STUPID reason it is true, then whichever club, company get her services will have found a great person for their company.

I haave to agree. Whilst I'd be the first to admit I'm very much a newbie at Cougars, I've come across Helen a few times and she never fails to smile and say 'Hi'. She made a point of being appreciative about our snow-clearing efforts, and helped to get volunteers down there in the first place.
A lot of grass roots RL is about loyalty, it would be a great shame if this was the club's way to repay her loyal service.

I agree that it is terrible news that Helen is leaving the club. Wonderful servant of the club, on the occasions that I've spoken to her I've always felt she was warm and genuine.

However, what other options does the club have other than make positions redundent?

After all it's a business and we've all seen what happens when the club doesn't balance the book on numerous previous occasions.

Like Mick I am another new fan and Helen has always been wonderful to both me and my family, if she leaves or is made redundant. Keep her Gary or the club will be in a worse state than you can imagine.

Sorry to hear this , admin staff who understand how a semi pro sports club operates and is willing to put up with it , in fact enjoy putting up with it are few and far between
