| Anyone else notice the music played, yesterday when Daley Williams scored.
I think all of us will know the history, that has gone on in the past between Daley and the York player.
If it was the other way round and York had done it. I would think it was the wrong thing to do. I would think it was rubbing our faces in it.

| I was laughing my backside off at that.
It's good to see something a little edgy like that.
Especially when it seems the RFL are doing their upmost to sanitise the atmosphere in grounds to attract families.
The club is in the entertainment business and it certainly was entertaining.

Would you have thought that, if it was Daley who you fully believed was hit from behind as some of the York fans do?

| Hi there its joe that does the music on gooseys profile. Just wrote a msg but dont know if it went through.
I can see where you are coming from jim but all im trying to do is lift the atmosphere within the club as its sumtimes a bit lack luster. Playing that song i fully knew the responsability of what might have been said and would happily pay any fine if the match commisioner disagreed. Nothing was said by him!
Thanx 4 the comment though

| Ratcliffe was so badly hurt that 7 days later when they played Oldham he was probably their best player.
York fans know how to dish out verbals and would love to rub our noses in anything they could if the boot was on
the other foot.
I didn't here any York fans complain. I did hear all the Cougars fans laugh and being entertained.
So in answer to the question Good idea or not?
The answer is Great Idea.

Hi Joe.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on this.
I fully understand the job you have been doing. And i have to say since you started the improvement is 100%.
I have to say i am not so sure about this choice. I can how the Cougar fans would see the funny side of it, but i am not so sure about the York fans.
If the shoe was on the other foot. I wonder how we would feel.
Maybe you could get some jokes read out during the game. I think most of us will remember the one about tampax, made by Pete Fell against Workington.
Now that was edgy and really funny ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

Jim, in that situation I'd have been peeved and had it of been a cowardly attack from behind, which the video clearly showed it wasn't, it would have been well out of order.
It's our ground so we should be trying to entertain our fans coming down every fortnight.
Whilst there we're mitigating factors (school holidays, bad weather, York bringing 8 taxis worth of fans, season ticket holders having to pay etc) the crowd was desperately poor yesterday. I think we need to try everything and anything to get fans coming back to Cougar Park.

| I think it was great at end of day it was funny and as others said York lot did not moan which in itself is rare
Joe keep up the good work.
If it had been the other way round would have not been bothered but Daley did not strike him from behind so as far as I am concerned thats the end of the matter.
I am more concerned about the next game not whether folk were upset by a piece of music.

| To be honest I didn't really notice it but I heard the announcer say Daley "Rocky" Williams and thought it mildly amusing.
The York Fans themselves, on their own website, called him "Sugar Ray" Williams so they can hardly have cause to complain that we made it into a joke.

| FINALLY my lat thought on this ...remembering that in the past couple of years ..Sheffield have always had the sinbin (for whatever team) sponsored by a company of local solicitors ... loving that ..what a great marketing ploy....
Same down at Cougars ![ROCKS k020.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//k020.gif)

| I'm sure I've been at grounds where they have played "appropriate" music when a player has been binned or sent off, but I can't think where.
When we beat Dewsbury this season at Dewsbury, their DJ played "here come the girls" as their players came out of the tunnel after half time. ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif) I couldn't work out if it was pure accident or designed to sting them into action.

| Can i just say a few words re. your debate, in hindsight it probably wasn't a good idea as i felt all it did was rake up past history and with things still pending it probably didn't do anyone any favours, Stealth Comic, you are quite correct it wasn't an attack from behind, albeit, it was certainly pretty cowardly, and the lad certainly paid the price by missing a grand final because of it.
Secondly, the match commisioner did raise the matter to York and was asked if they would like him to put it in his report, they rightly declined thinking of it as mildly amusing.
Guess Who, i appreciate your thoughts on the matter and have to compliment you on the impartial way you have debated this and trust that a certain amount of thought by the club may go into any repeat in the future.
Goosey, I commend your thoughts and motive, but agreeing to pay any fine is probably not the right way of going about things, as your colleague as already pointed out, the RFL are trying top promote the game as a family sport, and actions such as this could dissuade impartial supporters from attending matches.
Regards

| I think we do our bit to help the 'family' aspect of the game at the Cougars already, hence an almost entirely observed - and voluntary - ban on swearing and bad language. You'll also hear those who do get carried away being admonished by those around them. You won't see bouncers in our club bar, and you'll very rarely see anyone having a go at the stewards in the ground.
Not bad, when you consider the reputation Keighley has in the surrounding area!
