the rest of you think of todays performance? Not a bad one considering how good barrow are but we do need

. better players i know it costs but we need em if we want to stay up (or are we just waiting until next season to squad build)

. would also like to the clock sorted out cause i think it looks bad when its all out of sync i know its only minor but its a bit of a bug bear

We were never going to beat Barrow with a team full of youngsters.

I would love to know why so many senior players were missing.

even though we did have some senior players missing we still need to bulk up and get a few older players in to boss the game

dont get me wrong i know the lads have done a great job getting in us into the championship and i respect them for that but we do need to improve.

The only way players of experience are going to come to us, the team at the bottom of the league. The team who is suffering heavy defeats is to pay them lots and lots of money.
Is that going to happen?

Strange that no-one has mentioned the biased ref!

Jones was through when he was stopped because of the fight; then what about the blatant trip in-front of the posts and we were penalised for objecting!

What about the dubious decisions that gifted Barrow 18 points in the first half?

I think that we missed Presley as it left Jones far too much to do by himself. Where was Germaine Wray?

Jermaine was injured and i agree we missed johnny,baz made a statement but for me was the wrong choice,his defence has to improve but his try scoring record speaks for himself.

I was holding off on the whole 'boased Ref' bit as I wouldn't want it to look like a case of sour grapes, the truth if you really want my opinion is that the -9 was not the punishment for going into administration, that was just the platform for the officials to follow through on the instructions from above - 'Don't give Keighley an inch, they are going down, they will learn the hard way, we must set a precedent to the rest of the clubs that we will not stand for the kind of management that has been evident of Keighley recently and in the past' - Cheers Spencer!

Playing the ref is almost as important as playing the 13 men on the field in front of you.

As for the squad, I think Barry has done a fantastic job putting a team together that is greater than the sum of it's parts.

If we can only muster 1,000 per game, it stands to reason we can't compete against teams averaging more than twice that.

I am glad to see, that people think the ref was only picking on us poor Cougars

Couldn't agree more re the comment about Barry - he's worked wonders.

We really have to thank the banned Directors for being unable to invest in previous years but were still able to take us into administration (again).

Still where we are BUT, [size=200AND IT IS A BIG 'BUT'[/size, level on points with Dewsbury - instead of 7 points adrift, but still far-better placed. That's what I call 'watching the purse-strings' when they told everyone that they would never go into debt again.

Pleased that neither of them will ever be able to be Directors of a RL Club again!

The damned referee again. Why dont the RFL just get rid of them if they cant see through players and do 5 things at once. I mean ones in SL with big screens cant get it right, so the ones we have should be their superhuman upgrades. Just get rid of them all, cant be that hard to do surely. Then we'll all...

I know quite a few of you on here personally and if I dont I respect your opinions be it about cougars, other rugby matters or anything else. But you must realise how laughable it is reading about the ref every week. If we tackled as we should, kicked as we should, caught as we should, passed as we should and played to the rules as we should, then we would have no reason to talk about the ref. I know this wont happen as everyone makes mistakes but you have to realise this includes the officials aswell.

That's a good and partially valid point but not strictly true. What if we were within 4 points of a team with 1 minute to go and the ref missed a blatant trip/off the ball tackle in front of the posts that denied us a try? Many fans, me included would think that poor refereeing and I would not be very sympathetic to the "everyone makes mistakes" line.

At the time of a similar incident in the Barrow match we were 0 -12, the try would have put us 6-12 and given us momentum. Instead the ref penalised us, I assume for dissent, from which they scored making it 0-18. Momentum is now firmly back with them.

Having said that, Barrow were the better side anyway and deserved the victory.

I don't think the refs or the RFL have vendettas against teams, but it does make me wonder if they watch for certain infringements more. ie they expect us to slow the game down therefore they watch us more closely for those types of infrigement.

The ref did not loose us the game, but he did influence it. Would we have got a bonus point? Who knows, but I don't think so, Barrow bombed loads of chances.

Ah well..... onward and well erm, .....onward.

If that really was the case, then the tries they had ruled of for forward passes would have been given.
Rawlings would have been sent off, for that very late challenge late in the second half.

I don't think you can blame the referee too much when you get beat by 30 points.

I'd understand if it was a last minute try from a pass that Joe Montana would have been proud of. Or Ronnie Laughton's second half performance in a play off game against Rochdale which was just plain bent.
