Good player is Massey, he was at York on loan in 2008 and has played quite a few first team games for Cas this year, I think this dual reg lark is more to benefit the SL team myself though, we've had 2 from Cas for the last month or so and only one of them has played 1 game so far.

I am not in favour of the dual registration system at all, although I understand that due to injury situation we are caught between a rock and hard place.

We all know the deal favours super league clubs, can the club kindly confirm the situation.

Let's look at it on the positive side, he's someone in the squad we wouldn't otherwise have got.

It sounds like he's a very good player and if he's influential in a us getting a few wins that's got to be good hasn't it?

Ok, he can be recalled back to Cas but it's not like we've got a load of them from the same club so when they all go back we'd be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

I am pleased about this. We need a prop , like yesterday. How else are we going to get one match fit?

When all our props are fit, and available, Baz will pick his best 4 and Nathan will earn or loose his place accordingly.

Yes Cas might call him back, but when it is pouring I would rather borrow a hat, than do without.

I have been speaking to a Cas Fan who knows his stuff.

He says Nathan Massey is well liked, very hard working and will do well for us.

He does however say that at this moment in time he is not quite big enough to be a Superleague Prop.

Taking someone for a season is not what we need, right now.
We have good props, unfortunately they are injured.

When they get fit, we would end up having to pay a player for a year.

Good move by the club.

Personally I like the dual registration idea and glad to see Keighley have made use of it.

I am not a fan of the DR system as it stands, all the advantage is with the SL club. I am not opposed to a controlled loan system but DR just seems to open to potential abuse.

Imagine coming upto a key game at the end of the season only to find your opponents have signed some quality DR players for the day. Or how about you play a side with DR players and get beaten twice to find they are recalled when they play your nearest rivals?

In the cold light of day we have to make use of any advantage available to our opponents, but that still does not make the system right.

It's by no means a perfect system but it's always going to be weighted in favour of the Super League.

After all it is their players being loaned out.
