Hopeing for a big crowd to give the lads some confidence

If memory serves me correctly Leigh drew with Barrow. So going by that I will give an optimistic view of Leigh by 20.

Considering we should of beaten Barrow , would think that we will give you a good game today .
Got to say I know little about Keighleys signings or players these days , been a while since the heady days of Cougarmania since my last visit to Cougar park ( apologies if name has changed ) , still looking forward to todays game .

They also lost to York. So it may be a matter of which Leigh side turns up.

Poor game today,we looked clueless at times.

On the back foot for most of the game and once again many silly penalties and kicking the ball way too early.

J . Presley....has to do better as we all know he can.
Thought D Jones didnt do much today ,hardly saw him.

All the best to Leigh for the season but i feel the likes of Fax and Widnes will be far too strong for them.

If we could cut out the penalties and stupid mistakes we'd be competitive.

We missed Brendan and Scott Law today big time.

In attack we look a bit too lateral and static.

We are still a work in progress, Meekin and Nash will add size, but we need a try machine in the backline, rumour has it he will be here just after Easter.

The big fellas didn't run onto the ball enough however, it was a well drilled Leigh defence. Gave Paul far too much room and it was a blessing when he went to Hooker.

It appeared that the Leigh players were far more busier and industrious - their number twelve was all over the place (positively) in attack and defence - can we have him please?

I know we have to try and get some of these points back but to start with we need to secure the defence and then take the opportunities. The Cougrrrs have proved they can score against these teams but they will allways come off second best if we cant keep them out.

There wern't too many positives to come out of the game but one BIG positive was the atmosphere both in and around the ground - well done to all the voluteers and congratulations on the half time entertainment - not quite sure what Freddie was doing with the Chairman after the 'race'...

Only two points out, not a bad prediction. Anyway see you in the land of the frogs.

That try in the second half was a belter, know I wasn't the only one to applaud it.

Shame it was too windy to get all of our flags on show!

How many little cougars have you now ?

We played badly. Leigh deserved to win.
Our lads look worryingly small compared to most teams we've seen so far, we're going to need our big lads to be on form. Also we've got to complete sets of six, if only to buy ourselves a bit of ground. I think the giving the ball away early has come from trying to offload in the tackle, which teams have been doing against us with some success...
...if we can just offload properly, things may change on that scoreboard.

I agree with much of what has been said but believe we could and should have been level at half time. We missed two sitters by making the wrong decisions that on any other day we would have scored. We are regularly going in to "panic mode" as pressure to chase a score builds.

I think Leigh scored all of their first half tries off the back of extra sets gained from penalties. Credit to them - dumb play by us. It might have helped if the ref had been consistent - he seemed to ignore like for like offences in the second half, but thats the game, not an excuse. Robbie Paul still has class but he does throw a lot of very flat passes some of which (from my viewpoint) looked forward.

Some of our players were still working their socks off right up to the whistle, but I'm sorry to say that a few let their heads drop. We are going to have to fight for every inch and every point, missed bonus points will come back to haunt us.

Overall, Leigh worked harder and deserved the win, we are not up to speed with this division yet. The question is can we get up to speed and if we do will it be too late?

The after match speeches are too late and many of the fans had gone. To his credit, Gary Fawcet circulated around the bar talking to fans and said he would try to correct this. It looks like he is genuinely open to suggestions and ideas, unlike our last rather rotund chairman who just listened to himself.

We will have to do much better to survive in this division.

That's what Johnny Presley is capable of when he believes in himself.

Unfortunately he just doesn't realise how damn good he is when he has the ball in hand.

I am a Wires fan but was supporting Leigh for the day, it was the first Championship game I have ever been to and was overall really impressed with the standard of rugby.

I was also happy to see that the Cricket Club was charging just 2 quid a pint and the bloke on the gate was more than happy to let us in and out
