I'm looking for the answer to a question ....

I'm going to be bringing my 4 year old daughter to the Leigh game on Sunday, and someone has told us that they allow kids to play on the pitch after the game. She's very excited about this, but i'm wondering if this is allowed ?

can someone let me know so that i can buy a ball, or let her down gently ?

It has been the case for many years that kids go on the pitch after the game to play, ethier run around or to kick a ball about. However after the last game I think someone tried to kick them off the pitch so confirmation from the club would be nice. I hope they can still play on the pitch, as for some of the kids, its the highlight of their day, cant think of any other pro-sports ground in the country where this happens.

I hope they do. If kids are happy, parents are happy. If a child remembers playing on the pitch thet are going to want their parents to bring them back. If it is a place to get yelled at well maybe not.

Little things like this mean a lot to little people.

But as the pitch only has 11 days to recover for the next home game, I wonder if the club will allow this.

I hope so too Mickey, kids running around the pitch in trainers for a couple of hours is hardly going to do the same damage as 13+ stone men in rugby boots dragging each other around the pitch is it!, Keighley has always been different from other grounds, creating a great family day out, why change the feel of the club?, Let the kids play I say

Plus it keeps the littlekiddiwinks entertained whilst the parents have a post match beer or four...

The club haven't told anyone that the children aren't allowed on the pitch so will find out why they were told to come off.

As long as they are in trainers i don't have a problem with it.

what was the outcome were kids allowed to play on the pitch

not sure. my little one wanted to see if anyone else went on before she would, and no-one did so we went and bought a freddie Cougar instead. However after the Batley game, i don't think I'd want her anywhere near the pitch without her wellies ....
