I have to say the defensive effort in the 1st half was totally unacceptable.

Most of their tries were on the same wing by running and through Tom Burton and Luke Raynor, it was Lukes first game but do not feel wing his best position because he is exposed to the other teams big lads.

Tom Hall did ok in his first outing. The 2nd half was lotbetter as we got in their face more and it clearly rattled them, a key to any success is that we get in the face of opposition from the 1st minute not the 41st minute.

I hope and trust the emphasis in training will be defence as our attack will take care of itself.

It is very frustrating because we do show no respect to opposition we look really good, just hope we complete tackles and stop them offloading the ball.

We showed tenacity to the end.

That's a pretty frank assessment for you GP.

We're certainly learning about life in the Championship the hard way.

From what I've seen we could do with some bigger players because we've been getting bullied.

I have to point out that there was no cott Law, Wll Cartlidge, no Jamaine. I think our forwards are big enough and need to get in the oppositions face from the very beginning.

On the wings we look small compared to some teams but its all about tackling technique, Gav put lot of hard work last night and was good defensively.

Jon Presley again showed his class when he ran at Barrow just not enough for me, he has the talent and should back himself a bit more.

Its essential on sunday v eigh we hit them early and hard and smother the ball player to reduce offloads.

There was no Purseglove, Wray, Haythornwaite, or Moss don't forget GP.

Obviously defence can be improved with correct technique.

When bigger players run at smaller ones tackles will get bust though.

When the likes of Widnes have centres bigger than our 2nd row it's only going to end up in trouble.

It's not the players fault, it's just physics.
