Oh dear we were miles apart in skill levels today. Going to be a long season, yes. Their facilities and hospitality were fabulous. Thanks to Widnes still enjoyed my trip. Very nice people.

Anyone who was there today cannt fault our players efforts at the end of the day Widnes are a really good team and god luck to them.

We're standing off in defence again, and letting them come to us.

I thought we had binned that habit.

I know i didnt go to the game and i have only seen the video, but it looks like we were a bit star struck.

Too many players doing their own thing. Not working as a team. We were missing tackles in all areas. The wingers on both sides, but especially Craig Moss were coming in to try and sure up in the centre but leaving a gap for Widness to walk through. That said the effort by the wingers was class against wingers twice their size and if it were not for Gav and Criag we would have been nilled. The dummy runners seemed to cause utter chaos in our defence and when we did get the ball we gave it away too cheaply. Star struck might be the word, but basically our game plan was torn up in five minutes and we never played the way we normally do. I think it is still a bit early to write us off but a couple of things need fixing.

It seemed that the turnstiles at the Halton were harder to get through than some of our tackling yesterday to be honest. We seemed almost scared to commit numbers in to them.

I'll echo the sentiment on here though, you couldn't fault the effort they only capitulated in the last 5 minutes.

We've just got to erase it from the memory and go at it full bore on Sunday. If we can get off to a flyer the French will be flying the white flag in no time.

I think we should maybe go full bore on Saturday, as that is when the match is.

I know we got hammered, but our lads never gave up until maybe the final couple of minutes. They showed real spirit and did us proud in that respect. Scott Law and Jermaine had cracking games, and set a good example to any youngsters watching.
At least there were some positives...
...our shirts are nicer than theirs, and we have a proper bar, not a concrete concourse with nowt but bliddy lager and crisps!!!
