I think its high time to sack the royal family I do not mean all of them although it is a long held belief of mine. I would keep the Queen simply because of the tourism they bring in. Charles and the rest of them should not receive any money from the taxpayers at all. Folk may say Charles as the land via Duchy of Cornwall but the land was not his in the first place. This would not only make them earn their keep like the rest of us but would save the country millions of pounds. Apart from Buckingham palace and maybe Balmoral the other royal houses or palabes should be given to and run by charities for the homeless or genuinely needy.

No no no. You are so wrong on this one. The income generated by the Royal Family is massive. Almost too huge to calculate. The cost of the Royal family is small change by comparison.

I don’t know how many of the Royal Family you have meet but, they don’t just sit on their backsides supping tea and being lardy da. They don’t choose this life. You might think they don’t work. Does this go for William and Harry who like Andrew joined the armed forces. That also is work.

Great Britain is maybe not as Great as it once was, but the Royal Family are one of the remaining parts of the Establishment that keeps it so in my opinion.

Each has more Charities that they attend and lend their name to assisting the poor, disabled, dying and injured.

I used to be a bit of an anti-monarchist, but I'm pretty much in favour now. Yes, they DO generate millions for the economy, they DO command respect around the world, and if the alternative is some kind of elected official, or even just the PM, then I think it would be madness to get rid.
Maybe cut down on some of the hangers-on, but generally speaking, I'd keep 'em.
I think any politician who wants to be a 'head of state' is probably prepared to go to rather dubious lengths to get there.
