New Cougar Chris Baines will undergo surgery on his groin tomorrow after sustaining an injury last season.
Baines suffered with the injury for the latter part of the 2009 season but hoped it would sort itself out. ‘ I just thought it was one of those things that would get better on its own but I went to see the specialist last week who said it was best to operate.’
Baines and Head Coach Barry Eaton thought it was best to have the operation now to get the problem solved before the start of the new season. Eaton said ‘Chris will begin a rehabilitation programme straight away and if all goes to plan he should be back at the end of January.’
However it has not knocked Chris’s confidence as he looks forward to the new season ‘It’s never nice to have an injury but I’m just concentrating on getting fit and making an impact in the league.’
