Nearly one week since"public knowledge" of the situation at Cougar Park and all that the fans have had is a few soundbites.

This is not a go at Messrs Spencer and Farrer who I believe have done the club and town a great service since the last "club" went to the wall.

It's just that...............................................

It's the speculation that is killing the "goodwill".

If the fans have to wait until after the 9th December beanfeast to find out a small amount of what has transpired and is going to happen then I'm sorry but the goodwill factor may well be truely lost.

There is no doubt IMO, that the current board and management have the interests of the club at heart but their income stream is mainly the fans and if you lose their interest then .... well we all know the consequences.

Another "soundbite" would even be welcome but the silence is deafening!!!

I think the loud and clear message is “Keep the faith.”
Things are happening which can’t happen overnight.
The vibe is a positive one, and I’m sure when the full story breaks I think we will in a better position than before.

I know it is hard and the days pass slowly.
The fear of the unknown has killed my fingernails.

However there are no panic stricken headless chickens running around at Cougar Park
And I don’t think we hit any icebergs so we should be ok.

I have heard that he has left the club. If thats true or not i am not certain.

Now is the time for the club to let people know whats going on.

If this left much longer it could become a PR disaster.

The club's excellent reputation for engaging with the fans is being damaged.

It can't be helping season ticket sales either.

In my opinion they should look to extend the season ticket discount scheme into the new year because I know fans who are holding fire until this is sorted out and the deadline for buying them at £100 is fast approaching.

This is true Mick.Not buying mine till something concrete and if its after the deadline well i just might not bother.

Its making the club look like a bunch of amateurs.

We,the fans,demand a statement very soon or i think some will walk away for good.

I agree that the club should extend the discounted season ticket price in view of the delay in an outcome to this situation, providing that the outcome is a positive one AND announced soon AND the fans are not too miffed at the lack of information recently then the club may just see a sharp rise in interest for the tickets, the one thing for certain is that the longer this goes on, the more miffed people will become, the club may also find that the fans that joined us last season will be the first to turn their backs on the club therefore undoing the hard work done in the community that got them to Cougar Park in the first place

We need a statement from the club, be it good, bad or just to let us know that the situation remains the same but ...........

The club need to think 'damage limitation'

It's not just that Al.

They need to do it to end the speculation.

A lot has leaked out since last week (Keighley Cougars 2010 LTD, 3 new directors) and people are starting to fill in the blanks themselves.

For the sake of Players, Employees, Sponsors, Creditors and Fans we need to know the truth so we can all start to move on.

Having spent the 2009 season structuring the club commercially to generate sufficient revenues to fund a successful 2010 campaign in the Co-operative Championship and pay off a long-term legacy tax debt, the tax authorities have, unfortunately, refused a payment plan we proposed to them last week and have started winding up proceedings at the club. [size=150[uHowever don’t be alarmed about this, things are in motion to solve the situation to make the club ever stronger and we are actively working with the RFL to bring the situation to a successful and quick conclusion[/u[/size.


Come on fellas. Many are frustrated. If things need sorting you have to give them a chance. Keep the faith. I bet the club would love nothing more than to tell the full story, they have things to be done first.


Do we or do we not consider ourselves "Supporters"

The club could appreciate “Support” at a time like this.

If you want to wait a bit longer to buy your season ticket, well ok I see your point but I don’t think it is being too supportive to demand our thirst for information goes before
Ensuring the best interests of the club are addressed first.

Send messages and ask questions, as PM or emails but I don’t feel we are “supporting” the players by airing our dirty washing online.

It's a really good point Micky but I don't think we're asking too much for a short progress report clarifing various things.

It's basic human nature for people to worry about things even when they're told not to worry about them.

The only reason the vast majority of people are posting on here is because they care about the club.

I can only say that every player, coach member of staff and director at the club has my 100% backing and I know they will all try their upmost to keep this club going.

To a certain extent I know what they're going through. As other posters on here will know I came extremely close to losing my job back in March (it was down to me and someone else going) and with my firm working short time I had to leave my home and move back in with my parents.

Believe me, every one of them have my upmost sympathy and support because what they're going through is terrible.

so sorry for the cougar fans .it like watching a repeat of us at donny this time last.i really hope everything is sorted out for you.i wouldnt want any body(even sheff/seagulls) to go down the road we went down last year.allthe best and keeping my fingers crossed for you
